Ours doesn't go up until around 4 years ago.

We don't even have a christmas tree to put up, whats the point with 2 48 year olds and a 19 year old. If it wasn't for other people actually liking christmas, then we wouldn't have it at all Razz

cba with xmas. Many will see this as miserable but xmas is crap. Its just a big excuse to buy presents and go shopping. Everyone is either happy, pretending to be happy or being unhappy in which case everyone goes "stop being scrooge..."

If it wasn't for women and kids, xmas would not exist or it would be restricted to religious people.

I don't mean that literally just before someone jumps in to say "so how was jesus born without a woman blah blah"

heres a nice little joke

I always wait 'til Christmas Eve, but will have to buy the (real) tree quite soon else they all run out! I have a tradition of walking dogs up to the woods to gather holly and ivy in the afternoon, then spend the rest of the day decorating the house with some alcoholic inspiration Shocked

Anyway can't put everything out too early this year else the kittens will have trashed all the tree decorations and present before Christmas Day! Can't see me sleeping much Christmas Eve as it will be like a war zone in my living room Rolling Eyes

And Dragonfly - love your fireplace Very Happy ! My woodburner is being fitted next week and I cannot wait!!

I agree, far too much lace and china. You can almost smell the wee and sherry.

Laughing

Blame my mother. And the village I live in Neutral

But I can assure, the parties we have are far from old and boring. Laughing

I think the fact that 50+ uni students (sisters friends) can have an awesome time here and talk about parties of 5 years ago and whenever the words "party" or "get together" gets mentioned everyone is like "OMG I'm coming!"

If it was my own place it certainly wouldn't look like that Razz
