The first two pictures look so red that one might think they were photoshopped, but I will presume they are not and agree that it is disgusting.

just seems a waste of life,why destroy like that? perhaps they eat the meat yea..theres shops full of food,people hunt on farms,pest control,rabbits,foxes etc..rabbits you can eat foxes mess with the farmers living,theres at least a reason for that..

If it's just for the sake of killing them then it is definitely pointless.

If they are putting the dead dolphins to use such as food then I don't think it's so bad.

Look up 'K selection' on the mighty wikipedia.

Killing large numbers of K Selection animals is a very very bad plan. Hence my hatred of the shark finning industry and any whaling.

This to me is no exception.

I was watching this thing on TV last night about shark fin soup, They kill hundreds of thousands every year and the fucking shark fin has no taste they flavour it with bloody chicken broth Confused Twisted Evil

Thanks for that. I wasn't aware it was legal for these rich yanks to pop up in Zimbabwe and kill Elephants for 'sport'.

I suppose it gives the spearchuckers a bit of extra money over culling them themselves, but its still fubar.

@Marlboro Matt - Yeh, try and get hold of 'Sharkwater' if you can. It's a recent documentary/film thing and it really hammers the point in. They take any shark, but most shockingly they take whale sharks just for their fins. I'm not too concerned by the agony of chucking live sharks back in, I mean its bad but thats a moral point. What concerns me is the rate they are being harvested (along with any wild fish) as plenty of sharks (dogfish are a great example) take 20 years to reach sexual maturity.

Same with dolphins.

Lets put it this way, if you were to kill humans by a rate of 500 million a year say. Numbers wise we could easily replace that in a year if only children were taken. If however, we only took adults (the big catch) we would wittle down the amount of reproducing members. If you got to a point where most of the population were under 12, you'd know we'd have to stop harvesting humans or else we'd risk extinction.

Tis the same with any animal that isn't ready to breed with in a year or two. Long guarded 'childhood' to ensure a long 'adulthood'.

If you go to mongolia, you can fire any weapon you like, my friend just came back from travelling there. Apparently for around 90 quid, you can get an RPG and a cow in a field.
