After a CB400 for my first bike!! (the jap import one)

How much could i get a mint one for?

How easy are they to get them restricted to 33bhp?

Anyone selling one?

Got a CB-1 for sale which is the precursor, has a slightly more racey riding position with clip ons rather than flat bars. Perhaps slightly less pretty.

My version wouldn't be called mint, and needs a fuel leak looking it but its not that untidy, can be had for a few hundred quid if interested.

i've got a CB400SF and it makes a pretty good first big bike IMHO

good points - good build quality IMHO, reasonably light, good handling and good mph.

bad points - electrical gremlins for the most part. they like a rectifier now and again (although my last one seems OK, touch wood).

i also like the styling - i **like** twin shocks and round headlamps!

mine was restricted by the supplying dealer with the washers in the
carbs - i still have 'em somewhere...

the restriction didn't affect the day to day performance too badly - it just stopped the bike revving past 9,000 rpm or so IIRC

as said above, the CB1 is much the same bike, but with the bonus of gear driven cams.

they've made the CB400SF since the early '90 and they still do the VTEC version AFAIK. mine is a plain vanilla early '90s one.

there is also a suzuki bandit 400 which is much the same bike...

getting restricted is no problem cost 140, mine revs way past 9k and its still fine to about 90mph (wind put me off going faster).
i got a reasonable mid 90s one for 800 so a mint one maybe double that? i dont know if you can still get new ones imported though

I had a cb1, wish i'd never got rid now. It was fun to ride, comfy and built really well. I only got rid as i got a newer bike, i wouldnt mind another one for commuting though.
