I would've paid it had it not been Cat C, which I believe means it had been in a crash.

I paid 750 for my 1998 CG.

You should be looking privately for a deal at that sort of price range, dealers are charging you a couple of hundred more so you r better getting more bike for your money than lining the dealer pocket.

I feel like a mug now having paid £750.

However, that was the best I could find at the time within a reasonably close distance. Is it just me or do things suddenly get more expensive south of junction 15 of the M1?

You have to weigh it all up at the end of the day, do you travel further but risk not liking what you see when you get there and it costs you to get there and back empty handed?

Or do you pay more and get whats available at the time?

My general rules are that if your new and have no clue then stick with a dealer that you have a bit of come back on should there be any problems, otherwise buy private for a better deal.

For a 125cc around the £500-£700 mark you can go either way, for most the likely reason for it is waiting until you get your licence and then move up to a bigger bike. So the only problem you may have if you buy from a dealer is the trade-in or private sale price depending on what you paid.

Seams like a reasonable price if the rest of it is straight, I'd have bought it.

Mine was a tatty example, from a friend so it only cost me £450
