I've heard of them doing 50mph, but thats about it really.

As far as I'm aware, there is an exhaust restriction, but being a 2007 model I'd be more inclined to think there was a ECU related restriction as well.

If we go off clock speeds though, 40mph clock speed is still a lot less than 65mph clock speed, even if the clock is very unreliable.

By saying "a mechanic" derestricted it, i guess you dont mean an aprilia mechanic or someone who would actually know how its derestricted...

It should say 60/65mph on its over reading speedo...

So get the mechanic to make sure he has done the following... (all of them not just the odd bit here and there)

Remove the brass plate inside the airbox to carb...

Fit A 210 Atomizer tube and matching needle (on middle notch)

Remove entire exhaust restriction tube from exhaust downpipe joint...

Fit 105 main jet...

Replace 11T front sprocket with 15t version (you need the sprocket retainer as well as the 11t uses smaller screws)

Replace the BR8ES plug with a BR10EG

If you want aprilia part numbers for all the derestriction parts just let me know and ill get post them Wink

I know for a fact they do 60... My friend Nialle Walsh has one completely standard... Problem is at 60 it's in the redline...

Completley standard, no they don't, because they are sold to 16 year olds who can't legally exceed 30mph.

I'd hoped that you'd been flamed off this place enough already, clearly you still return as retarded as every.

Going down hill with the wind behind you does quite a bit you know Smile had 95 out of a van which just about did 85 the rest of the time.

I had a 2006 RS50 MY06.

The last owner up jetted the carburetor, fitted an aftermarket exhaust and had the CDI de-restricted.

I then fitted a smaller back sprocket and bigger front one so it was set up for top speed and had 70mph on the clocks, slightly down hill on newish tyres with minimal wear.

I know it's inaccurate but true speed I'd of said about 60. I was tucked in behind screen and it took me about a mile of hovering at 60-65 on the clocks to hit 70.

They really aren't that quick Thumbs Up

Hmm... I just remembered i have an rs50... Once it's mot'd and ready to go on the road again i'll throw it down a hill with me gps and see how fast it goes... (if i can find a way to fit the gps to the back of it with some kinda protection it'd be tempting to throw it off a cliff and see if it goes any quicker Razz!)

They are high performance bikes for their capacity so don't complain.

It could be a simple problem such as jetting or carburetor float height.

Keep at it. Cool

I think there is no restrictor at CDI..there is a restrictor only in RS125 there..
Are you sure that there is a restrictor there? How i can de-restrict this?

THanks

almost all stock cdis have a rev limiter, it dosent cause any problems on stock engine but when you tune the engine it will be capable of higher revs and then the rev limiter becomes a restriction Wink
