just noticed the bastard , god knows how long its been there , no airs coming out the tyre or its just a really slow puncture

anything i can do with it ? the tyres got less than 1000 miles on it so i dont really want to buy another one

Where on the tyre is it? If it's not in the sidewall you can plug it, not sure how close to the edge you can go.

it costs about 20 quid for a mechanic to fix it. if the nail is angled really badly they can put an innertube. but get the quote first

I'd rather have a new tyre than a plug tbh. Also some places have to send the trye off to be plugged.

I love the fact I can plug my own tyres in college for fuck all.

If you've got a bit of patience buy yourself a bit of kit (small car wheel, tyre levers, tyre lube, bungs, rubber glue etc) and do it yourself at home on a workbench.

are you sure it is a nail? sometimes you can get a small stone embedded in the tyre and it looks just like the head of a nail. But when you dig it out it's just a stone and no harm done (here's hoping anyway).

yeah it defentley is a nail . its a big ass mutha and its gone it at a 45 degree angle

ill pop down to the shop in a few weeks and see if i can get it plugged , ive got no monies for a while. isnt christmas great

Right, first off you need to really see if there's any air coming out. The tried and tested method is to gob on it and cover the head with spit, if it bubbles then you're losing air. If it doesn't, get the bugger out of there sharpish, otherwise your daily riding may push it deeper and then you will have a puncture. It only takes a pothole hit on the nail to push it deeper.

If it is leaking air, leave it in there and get to a tyre place.
