having a look i reckon it's worth no more than 1,350 but the guy has asked me to make an offer and i'm not gonna pay over the odds because this much for a 99 bandit with 22500 miles seems a little steep even with the extras. although i do really want it Shocked

how much do you guys think it's worth?

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bandit-600-Streetfighter-Gsf-sx-1999_W0QQitemZ160302261461QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycles?hash=item160302261461&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A7|39%3A1|240%3A1318

thanks.

That's a very nice bike Rufus! Looks like it's been well looked after too.
If I were you I'd go and have a look at it first though just to make sure there's no hidden horors but to be fair I don't think there will be.
As far as price is concerned I would of thought that for £1350 you would be getting a good bike + spares for your money, mileage is not too much of an issue if it's been cared for properly.

Good luck with the buying.

Its over priced for what it was, .i.e. standard bandit. That said clearly a lot of work has been done on it that makes it worth the money if thats what floats your boat as it were.

I would definately go and see it, more to look at the quality of the upgrades and the guy has done it all competently.

Would not worry to much about the spares as most of them will be useless to you in that they are in effect visible parts that will downgrade the bike to its original state. Putting the old wheels in for example will destroy its current looks if you had to do it. None the less they are handy to have in an emergency to get the bike going.

As nasty says, the mileage is not such an issue if its bee well looked after and the exhaust pipes dont look as if they have been too hot, although that may be becaus they are very new.

If it was a bike I was really interested in style wise then I would be happy to £1,350 for it, you clearly like it so I would get in quick before there are bids on it and haggle a bit, try him at £1,200 and see where he goes then meet in the middle.

The other point as well is that pay the £1,350 then ebay the wheels and other bits, you will easily make a couple of hundred on the parts to offset what you pay for the bike.

£1350 sounds reasonable. For an equal age and mileage bandit in standard trim I would spend about 900 if well looked after. The mods have bumped the price up a fair bit.
It's whether you value those mods at an extra £450. I think they look nice but I'd definitely try knocking him down a couple of hundred.
Also you could make a little bit of cash on all the spare bits so you could offset those from the price.

''streetfighter'' and ''bandit'' do not go together Wink

Interestingly he's got it listed as an 'SX' which should mean it's faired, which it isn't. This could mean as matt said it's been dropped and had the fairings removed.

Also Parkers list this bike as £790 - £1,130 (private poor - good).

If you want to pay for the extras and tarting, on essentially a 9 year old bike with 5 months TAX + MOT then I suppose £1,350 isn't too bad, but as that's his starting price, I think it's too high. (IMHO)

its definatly not worth it.
if you want a streetfighter, get a slabby GSXR 1100 for the same sort of price. at least its a proper streetfighter instead of these immitation underpowered bandits.

the whole point of a streetfighter is to have a street bike with a superbike engine. not a half-arsed engine like a bandit.

And if you read his signature you would know that a 600 is about the limit of what he will be able to ride.

Apart from that I disagree, it is worth it.

@LeeR - your not going to street fighter a bike like that and leave it faired.

Just because either of you dont like it does not make it a no go...

Where is the evidence to say its been crashed and rebuilt?

why cant he go bigger than a 600?
the insurance on an old 1100 will be about the same as a newer 600.

if i saw a bandit like that i would openly laugh at it. its like one of those kitted out novas.

thanks for being constructive wisenerl Smile

like i've said, i'll take a look at the bike, if there's evidence of a crash i'll leave it but i'm not paying over 1,350 in any case.

and about the nova comment, to be honest, piss off. the only bad thing about the look of the bike is possibly the seat which i'll be sitting on most of the time.

since when did bikers just bicker amongst themselves on the internet? quite sad.

flamebait ftw.

Because a Gix 1100 will take to restriction like a brick to water?

The "A2" in his signature might give it away.

since when did 'A2' mean 'you cant ride anything above a 600'??

he could get a ZxR14 if he wanted.

it means because the rest of us give sensible answers. it's obvious why someone on an A2 wouldn't get a zxr14. because the restriction would fuck the bike. not very bright for someone who likes to banter are you?

don't bother replying to this. i opened the thread to ask a question and get some advice which I have and thank you to all those who gave constructive input Thumbs Up

the book price on it is 1100 good condition which it appears to be. plus the scorpion can etc i'll probably start haggling at 1100 and go no higher than the 1350. hopefully get it for 1200 and then put the extra into the insurance or a decent jacket or helmet.
