Hello boys and girls.. im finally back on here after like a year off... how is everyone theese days? the site has seemed to pick up again since i was last on i think...

any way... i have the CRF back in my garage, bought it off some lad in plymouth and because of alot of abuse and lack of maintence from the him the chain snapped and smashed the engine casing to pieces, not rele thinking how hard it would be to get a new engine or casing for that matter i bought it and now im stuck... been told £750 for engine casings £900 for a decent engine... unless i can find a knackered engine with good casings im kinda stuck on this one...

was just wandering if anyone knows a good project i could turn this into... completely different engine, and have seen pictures of the supermono's in racing with theese bikes with r6 forks i think and looking mint... if any one has any ideas i would love to hear them... i need to something with this beast and while ive got naff all work going on and its winter a project sounds like a plan to me...

cheers _nah_

another option is find a decent alloy welder, whip the cases off and get him to repair them, since all the smashed part shouldnt be seen, then it would seem that would be the cheepest option.
good luck Very Happy

The gas tungsten arc welding process and the gas metal arc welding process are the two recommended processes for joining magnesium. Gas tungsten arc is recommended for thinner materials and gas metal arc is recommended for thicker materials, however, there is considerable overlap.
