Baked potato with tinned tuna. Chuck some cheese on top and some chopped chilis.

Microwave ridce pouches (tesco ones are cheapest) available in lots of flavours. Then whack it with cajun chicken, stir fry beef, prawns etc.

Toasties.

We have a george foreman grill, microwave and toaster at work and eat like kings Cool

Chinese, go into supermarket, purchase a bag of stir fry veg, a bag of beansprouts, 2 chicken breasts, 2 sauces of your choice (blue dragon and amoy are king) and a pack of ready to wok noodles.

Start cooking with just one chicken breast chopped up to fry on medium heat until its almost cooked but NOT brown anywhere still pale white, chuck in half the stir fry veg and beansprouts, whack the heat up all the way, keep stirring that shit for like 2 mins, chuck 1 block of the noodles, keep high heat and stirring for 1min or so, add the sauce, stir to mix, then serve.

Makes 2 good portions, big bowls.

This is really delicious, my personal faves are chow mein and sweet chilli, and to make it really sexual, splash out on some tiger/king prawns and fry them with the chicken.

It also takes me less than 6 minutes to cook from scratch, I tend to eat this once or twice a week, along with sets of other foods such as roasted chicken legs with boiled potates you can mash or have like they are, green beans, baby corn, peas ect.

Grilled or fried salmon with parsley or cheese sauce and birds eye steamed vegetable packs with the possible addition of pasta, again takes next to no time, is a piece of piss to cook, and is nutritious.

You can knock up a good bolognese easily enough, just boil broccoli and pasta, and fry some mince up, get a dolmio sauce or what not, throw it all into the boiling pan after you've drained it, and mix around.
Of course frying mushrooms with the beef is a good idea, and cheese on top of it all kicks anus. You can even replace the fried beef with tuna, just give it all a bit longer in the boiling pan to heat the tuna, medium heat keep stirring.

Steak, fry steak, fry eggs, smear with vinegar, consume.

myriads of others, if you come up with ideas, I'm happy to suggest how to cook it, and how long it will take.

I'm guessing here that you don't actually want something quick. You want something easy to prepare that produces minimal washing up.

This is why I'm a big fan of slow cooking stews.

So, get a lamb hock (cheap and tasty) and put it in a caserrole dish.

Add an onion, couple of potatoes and a carrot chopped roughly into bits.

Add a cup of water, a whole tomato, half a head of garlic (literally, just chop it in half), some rosemary and a slug of olive oil.

Put a lid on and sling the whole lot in an oven at about 160C for three hours.

Tasty dinner, about five minutes preparation time, one pot.

If you can work out how to use the oven timer, you can have it ready for when you get home from work.

Rather than chips, I like mashed potatoes. People make too much of a meal of doing this. No need to peel them, just wash the dirt off and SLICE them into roughly 5mm slices. Boil them until soft (takes about 10 minutes because you sliced them thinly) drain, add a knob of butter and a splash of milk then mash them.

I garuntee this takes less time than your chips do and leaving the skin in makes them tastier as well as better for you. If you use a steaming pan, you can steam frozen veggies over the pan you are boiling the potatoes in.

Variations on mashed tatties include stirring in some fried onions, using a dollop of sour creme or some cheese instead of milk.

You can do corned beef stovies by mashing in fried onion and corned beef cubes to your tatties. Serve with oatcakes and pickled red cabbage or beetroot.

Nice n easy pasta dish.

spaghetti carbonara

Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water (water must be boiling before you put it in the pan).

While its cooking, fry some chopped up bacon in a large pan with a lot of oil and freshly ground black pepper (u need a pepper mill but they are worth having).

Its easier to chop up the bacon with scissors, but you can use a knife if you prefer.

In a pint glass, mix about a third of a pint of single cream, with 3 eggs. You use a fork, and mix until you cant see egg yolk.

When spaghettit is done, drain it, put it in the pan with the bacon and oil. Turn off heat, stir well, and pour on cream and egg mixture. Keep stirring well so all the spaghetti is well covered. The eggs will cook from the heat in the pan and the pasta, no extra heat required.

quick and easy proper burger

Buy beef mince, put a food bag on your hand like a glove, and grab a handful of mince, and squish it into a ball in your hand.

Take your handout of the bag, and turn the bag inside out so the ball is in the bag.

Flatten the ball out into a burger shape.

Fry or grill, and serve between two lightly toasted pieces of bread, with whatever extras you want.

Note, a good trick, is as soon as you buy the mince, make lots of bagged burgers, and put them in the freezer, and then just get them out as and when you need them to defrost in the fridge.

It's not healthier, but it's quick and easy, and sooooo tasty.

Ham, 2 eggs and chips.

The eggs have to be runny though. And you can finish it off with a nice cup of tea.
