Police Question

Not gonna give away too much detail. But I pulled a wheelie today on my pit bike away from the traffic lights.

A bit later on I got a call from my mate asking if I got pulled by the un-marked police car which was sat behind me at the lights.

I was like "umm, No".

So bit confused as to what can happen now. Obviously I can deny all knowledge of being in that particular place at that particular time, And just claim that somebody must have cloned my plate or whatever.

However, Another one of my mates said he got spotted ages ago, and the next day the police were at his door. Laughing

They were probally laughing like the coppers I wheelied past on the Toy Run yesterday. Very Happy

Wouldn't worry about it, probally just community police officers in a unmarked car which we get around here, they don't actually have any lights.

Loving my bike atm, I could get used to power wheelies off every lights in first and second, no matter how small. Very Happy

Most cars if not all unmarked cars have video cameras now so denying it will be a mistake. But they would have pulled you there and then if they were behind you. Probably your mate winding you up. Wink

Sure your mate's not having you on? Normally, they'd pull you immediately.

If they do turn up don't incriminate yourself and don't lie either, just say 'really, that doesn't sound like something I'd normally do, do you have a video i could see?' and take it from there.

Sounds like they are just making more paper work ect for themselves by doing it that way. Never heard of someone getting done for something, except failure to stop, after the event.

I wouldn't loose sleep over it tbh.

if you do get a visit, dont deny it cause cameras are everywhere but say it was an accident as youve just changed your throttle cable and it must have been sticky and you really got a fright, you have got it sorted now and that should be the end of it, worth a go anyway cause it does happen

in theory you could receive a NIP through the post within 14 days of the offence, notifying you that you are being prosecuted for careless driving.

in practice i shouldnt imagine anything will happen. If they wanted to do you they would have done there and then.

Well, if that was me in an unmarked car and I had time to deal with it there and then I would stop the rider. If I was en-route to somewhere and needed to be at an appointment then I would more than likely put a marker on the video and visit the home address of the keeper at a later stage.
