I don't understand how ppl can drive when they're clearly not in the right frame of mind.

Surely, however drunk you might be, if you're tossing off at 120mph and driving with one hand, a small niggling doubt - "maybe this ain't such a good idea" - should see you safely off the road.

I mean, I like getting rat arsed, but however rat arsed I might be, I can still draw a line between high jinks and utter moronism.

The way I see it is, you're either too fucked to even drive, ending up slumped over the wheel or you're sober enough - however many shandies you might have had - to know better. There's no middleway which is why this clown should be nailed harder than 8 years.

I believe the minimum sentance for death by dangerous driving is 7 years? The maximum 14 years? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

So instead of giving him the 28 years he deserves, the judge has given him 8 years, probably letting him out in 4 ish years. So much for the English justice system.

Shows how shit the English legal system is, 8 years for killing two people is pathetic. I know it counts as manslaughter because there is no intent to kill, but the system should be reviewed to change the law. It should carry max sentence of life inprisonment like manslaughter and serious GBH does.

Also 15 years driving ban, should be life time from driving if you cause death by dangerous driving.

If he'd crashed and killed himself then I would have seen a bit of karma in it for him but to kill two innocent people through simply being a tool isn't funny in the slightest.
