Probably a really idiotic question, but on my GP100, must the suppressor cap be fully flush against the top of the cylinder head? I took it off to inspect the spark plug to only find I had no appropriate tools to remove the bugger, upon replacing it will not go all the way down.

It clicks but a bit of the white part of the plug with NGK wrote on it is still showing.
