restering a bike

this might sound like a stupid question and it probably is
ive got my provisional in the post so im thinking well ahead of time here, ive got my eye on a bike wich need a little work, so sort of a mini project unless i decide to do some major customizations with it
if i get it say next week how do i register it? can i put it in my name on a provisional (i wouldnt of thought so) and then get it sorn?
or can i put it in my dads name (hes got a car licence and another one wich lets him drive company vans, as you can tell i dont know what one ) and then get it sorn?
or pay the person the money to get it sorn then when i finally pass my test re register it in my name

you do not need a license to register a vehicle or to declare it sorn

so just register it in your name then sorn it
