put thumb and for finger on contact lense slightly apart, bring thumb and forefinger together, thereby squeezing the contact lense off the eye.

if your eyes are dry they may stick to your eye more, so drink more water, and blink a bit to wet your eyes

keep trying the above techniques

if you manage to dislodge a contact lense off the iris and onto the whites of your eyes, you have a battle and a half on your hands, and you will need to get it back over your iris before you can remove it

It's a million* times easier if you put your sausage-digit on the edge of the lens then look away - as the lens moves off the eyeball's lens it will crinkle up a bit.

Is it definately still in there?

Mate of mine stood for ages trying to take one out, turns out he was trying to take out his cornea because the lens was long gone.

Contact lenses are the work of the devil. I had one in for one day. It was thoroughly horrible 24 hours and it made me miserable.
I had 2 stitches put in the eye the following day and they're much more comfortable.

After my latest drop out i've had a gut full !

Colleague is getting his done just before christmas at the £395 per eye place so if he can still see after then i'm next.

I fell asleep with mine in a few weeks back.

They are continuous wear so it's ok to sleep with them.

But I woke up only wearing one....not sure where the other has gone.

God what a lot of fuss over nothing Rolling Eyes
They're easy to pop in and out.
And mine are the gas permeable ones.

I've not worn mine for almost a year, I only wear them for a hot date or riding the bike - and when I put them in the other day, I just bunged them in, no sweat.

Well, okay, a bit of sweat, maybe even a bit of sting, cos I forgot to rinse them, so they were a bit minging, and so I smudged all my eye make-up, which was a bit dumb of me to put it on BEFORE putting in the contact lenses ... you know how it is - one can forget to do things in the correct order SO easily.

Left them in overnight, and kept them in the next day, took them out last night, no sweat.

Whats the fuss?

They slid around the back of your eye then drop off and embed themselves in your brain. Shocked

Gas permeable ones are easy to get out, as they are semi-rigid.

If mcGee has soft one day disposables, they are more like wet tissue paper and so are a bit harder to get out, as yen-powell explained.

Soft ones are comfier tho.

Oh, well in that case, maybe mine are soft, LOL

They're very floppy . . . I can sleep in them and then wear them all the next day if I have to ... in fact, that is what I did this week, and I've not worn them for MONTHS.

But they're not that fucking difficult to get out.
You're just a bunch of noobs.

Mind you, I've been wearing them on and off, hard, soft, whatever, since I was about 20/21, so, erm ... maybe 25 years there, LOL, you'd think I WOULD have the hang of them by now Mr. Green

If it was still there, you'd know, even with the really soft ones.
I often go to sleep with mine in, usually they're still there.

Sometimes one might slip off and be, like, up the top of your eyelid.
Bit of a fucker to get back down, but I find that sort of closing your eye and (GENTLY) rubbing your eye whilst rolling the eyeball back and forth usually brings it back.

I used to worry that it would migrate round the back of my eyeball and go down my eye socket and get lost in my brain. But obviously ... they don't Laughing

Even the squidgy daily ones are fine once you're used to them. Just gotta get the lens centred and squeeze it from either side - piece of piss.

Horrible things to accidentally sleep in though, whenever I do I wake up with eyes like sandpaper.

I've done what Stink's friend did, got my lense out of right eye and stood there for a further two or three minutes tugging at my cornea, finally realised the apparent lense wasn't coming out so I put my hand over my left eye and just giggled to myself for a bit at the stupidity of what i'd been doing Laughing Managed to get quite a firm grip on my cornea as well which was convincing me it WAS still in Laughing

My brother tried contacts for years. He would walk out the bath room with red raw eyes it was pretty much freaky looking.
I think he gave up in the end, the amount of soreness he went though.
I know he wares them now and then with a different kind of solution.

my advise is use the hand you write with as the main hand.

anyway use the middle figner of the elft to hold your top lid.

use the middle of your bottom for the bottom. that should make you have pretty wide eyes and stop you blinking. then use your index to drag it down.

and pinch out.

dry your fingers if wet to stop slipping.

I dont know if im confused or if you are... Were not talking about the woolies sale here...

the intention was a light hearted digg at your one eye, looking for the positives and all that, a pair of disposables lasts you twice as long as the rest Thumbs Up Razz

I am so grateful that I don't have to wear lenses or glasses! I'm fine dealing with other people's eyes, but I'm really squeamish with my own. Taken me years to master false eye lashes Embarassed Wink

My first boyfriend (yeah, all those years ago Rolling Eyes ) wore hard contact lenses and without fail every Friday / Saturday night he'd roll home pissed and drop one on the hallway floor or behind the bookcase trying to get them out. I'd then spend ages lying on the floor with a torch to try and find them amongst all the crud - he wasn't into cleaning Sick !

Then an ex-colleague of mine when he first got lenses used to bring them into to work and I'd fit them for him, as he could take them out but couldn't put them in! Another friend had laser surgery and has never looked back, but ironically enough has to wear sunnies a lot of the time, as apparently laser surgery can leave eyes more light sensitive!

Shocked Shocked

I once spent ages searching around the bathroom sink for one I'd dropped whilst putting in. Eventually I found it.....stuck to my eyelashes Rolling Eyes
