Pinlock frustration...

OK, so I bought a KBC pinlock visor, one of these

and a clear visor insert, one of these

So lets check out the instructions...

"1. Push out the plugs"

No problem

"2. Put in Pins"

What fucking pins!!!??? There are no fucking pins!

*Shakes blatantly empty clear plastic bags* Nope

*Looks on carpet in case they fell out somewhere* Nope

*Does search on Net to see if should have bought "1 pack of pins SKU-123456"* Nope and what's more is I can't even find spare pins on the Net.

Fucked off... Completely.

I'm assuming you either have a visor without a pin-lock insert or are replacing your existing pin-lock insert.

If you have a visor without a pin-lock insert then as the instructions say (and this is where is differs from drilling the holes yourself) remove the blanking plugs from the holes in the visor. Then fit the pins that should have been supplied with the visor, if they're not present speak to Busters as they probably should have sent you a set. Failing that I have a spare pair knocking about somewhere that I can post to you.

If however, you already have a pin-lock insert (and I think you have) and are just replacing it with a new one, then just use the old pins. You might have mistakenly removed them thinking they were the plugs.

The visor is new with pre drilled holes filled with clear plugs.

The insert is also new to go with it. I imagine one or the other should have come with pins. The packaging and online description of any of them doesn't state "with pins".

I'll get onto Busters on Monday.

My Raid II came from Shoei with pins fitted and a spare set of pins in the Pinlock package.

All my pinlock visors have come with the pins - get in touch with Busters as they should have included them.

I think the Shoei CX1V visors come with pinlock pins as standard. I would expect the visor you bought to have them also. Get on to Busters and give them some grief. They will probably just post you some pins straight away.

Spoke to a guy at Busters earlier today. It took some time to convince him I just needed some missing pins. He got both items out of stock to check them out. Ironically the Visor insert he had there only had one pin with it. He was supposed to get back to me on my mobile later on and didn't. I'll hassle em again tomorrow.

My guess is the guys at the packing plant for pinlock.nl smoke far too much weed...

Well Busters came through OK. He may not have phoned me but he sent 2 pins through by 1st class post, came first thing this morning.

Fitted the insert fine, and from a brief trial it seems to work AOK. I'll give it a full tryout later on.

You might have to tighten the pins once or twice to get it to seal properly. They take a bit to bed in. Took me a couple of attempts anyway.
