Trackbike - ZX6R or CBR600RR?

Hi Guys

I'm on the lookout for bike to turn into a trackbike, I've narrowed it down to the two above I think. Can anyone suggest pro's and cons for both?

probably better to get a ready made track bike as they are cheaper than road bikes, and come with lots of nice kit already fitted, and set up for the track

Building on Colin's comments, there is a bike racing forum which has loads of trackbikes for sale. Some of the prices are ridiculous. IIRC one guy was selling his pair of RS250's, one wet bike, one dry, all race prepped, loadsa spares for 2k. Unbelievable.

Hi,

I agree with the others - its much cheaper to pick one up already tracked. I got my '03 CBR 600 for £1650 and it was tuned with all the main extras you need for the track (good can, uprated suspension, damper, rearsets, fairings etc). Couldn't find a road bike of the same year and mileage for anywhere near that cheap! It's especially cheap this time of year - seems prices go up when after Xmas and when the weather gets better. Just my thoughts, Jez
