1st try, foot down on the u turn
2nd try, something about lane positioning on a roundabout
1st try car test, speeding
if they think you should pass then they will give you minors and you will pass, if they do not think you are ready to pass yet then they you will get majors or they will pick up on lots of minors of the same type |

Speeding. Be careful that 'getting up to speed quickly' does not look like accelerating too quickly in the examiners eyes.
Nailed the U-turn on that test, despite a huge double-length green removal lorry pulling up beind me as I was doing my last obs.... ____________________ CBR125|||GSXR400|||CBR400|||CBR400|||CB250RS|||GSXR750|||CB250RS

I passed yesterday first time, three minors, the only few pieces of advice I can give are...
Remember your Obs, you can never do to many...
Ignore the bloke behind you, imagine it's a ride to work...
And keep your head up and your eyes open...
Good Luck... ____________________ Previous Bikes...Honda NSR 125 RR...Kawasaki Zephyr 550...Suzuki SV 1000 S...Yamaha FZ8...Current Bike...Suzuki GSX-R 750... |

I failed my first test on:
Leaving too much space on my left when making a left turn at a junction (even though I checked there was nothing to my left by using a left lifesaver before I turned)
Easing off the throttle when entering a sliproad coming off the A1 motorway/carriageway
Just passed on my second go on Thursday but the examiner marked me down twice for not checking my mirrors when changing speed ____________________ ZX6R F3 |

Failed 2 of my bike tests on the u-turn. The 2nd one was annoying because i tried to do it to tight, i still had atleast another 1m left until the curb, so because it was to tight then i didn't have enough speed to be able to make it round without putting my foot down. I didn't get any minors on that test either.
Passed on my 3rd with 4 minors, one was for observation (missing a lifesaver when changing lanes at the last minute), 1 for a left turning (coming out of a junction) after almost owning this kamikaze kid (Test was at school time), another for apropriate speed (35 in a 40) and i forget which the other was, could of been lane positioning or something.
Got my car test on wednesday...hope i pass or i will have a mental breakdown ____________________ It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's bloody hilarious!!! |

I passed 1st time, but being in the bike shop I hear 9 out of 10 people fail the U turn.
We had a bit of a funny one come up recently, some guy who was a nice guy brought loads of kit to do his test. But he came in and told us he failed on the U turn.
No word of a lie, a few days after we had a female come in and tell us she 'put' her foot down on the U turn after she thought the bike was going to fall over - Yet she past.
And this was with the same local training center |

1st attempt 0 minors 1 major.
Made a car slow down on the dual carrigeway when getting into the correct lane for the roundabout ahead bastard was doing about 90 anyway.
2nd attempt 3 minors 0 majors
Can't remember what for though, think it was observations and indicators. ____________________ www.southwestbikers.com

failed my first car test as i was hit by a van. twat came around a blind bend and clouted the front bumper. wasn't my fault but still had to be failed. passed second time.
tried my hgv test and failed as i got the wrong lane on a roundabout (told the examiner i'd cocked up but he still gave me a major) and four minors for not checking my mirror as i passed peds to check they didn't get sucked under the wheels. wtf! cost me a cool £1k and still got nothing to show for it. plus he was very welsh and i couldn't understand much of what he said!

failed first bike test for poor planning (got 3 minors for planning which turns into a fail)
Basically a bus had stopped at a bus stop (as they do...) on a two way road (each way with single lanes) i had come out to the middle line to see loads of traffic coming, so pulled back to the middle of my lane to sit behind the bus (BIG Mistake). Turns out bus was parked there, the examiner had to pass me and the bus and called for me to move out when i was ready. Doh
Also, got minors for meeting traffic- really difficult situations where you meet traffic bang in the centre of the road leaving either vehicle nowhere to go without reversing or backing up... I had to turn right into a side road off a main road (blind turn) only to find a digger taking up the whole left lane with a car coming at me in my lane.... just unlucky
Passed 2nd time with 2 minors though ____________________ www.artridertraining.co.uk |

Failed for being too far from the left gutter when making left turns, despite lifesaver checks etc. I was already nearly riding in the gutter, only a few inches from the lines, how close did he want me to be to the kerb
I refused to stall my bike during an emergency stop, he said I shouldnt of pulled in my clutch when I was about to stop, F*ing idiot.
Putting my foot down on the U turn when there were cars parked either side of the road, so the room I had was halved and he refused to let me move 5 metres down the road to do the turn.
Instructor was a F*ing tosser, never EVER EVER EVER do your test in nuneaton.
I did get my own back mind you, when I worked in a bike shop, he turned up to get new leathers and came with another instructor friend, the non tosser instructor got a lovely discount off me, when the tosser asked for a discount I had him barred from the store ____________________ Children in the back of cars cause accidents : Accidents in the back of cars cause children
