Right then...
this weekend i will most probably be putting a deposit down on a gtr 125, its an 07 plate, 10,000 miles, good condition, its up at £1,800 but there is always room for haggling . buying it from a main hyosung dealer(startright) in leeds.
Basically just wondering if there is anything i should look out for and whats the good points and bad points of this bike. Just general advice please.
Thanks

Seems expensive, but thats a dealer price with a warranty of some description.
I've seen 07 reg with a few thousand miles go privately for £1400-£1600 on ebay in August/early September, so seen as it's Winter and the start of the economic depression I'd definitely try haggling.
I've never owned one, tho I was strongly tempted. Some say the rust proofing isn't too good (maybe on par with Suzuki who they make parts for), and the paintwork is sometimes not brilliant.
Ask Azonicben or others for first hand info, since he's got or had one, his sig lists one for sale.
There's a Hyosung forum on korider.com with some Owners and Service manuals for download. |

I do indeed have one for sale
I`m open to offers (but not silly), Comes with blue flame can (and original) Recent chain + sprocket, recent pair of Avon sport vipers (a load better than the originals) in black n red
I`ve not actually bothered trying to sell it yet, as i was going to wait till the wether improves a bit, but I`m in the market for a new sofa, armchair and bed so the extra cash would be helpful at the moment.
Shoot me a pm with any questions and i`ll be happy to answer ____________________ Cbt-23/09/07.....Theory-16/09/08.....Das passed 10/10/08.....

Check tyres, brake pads. If it has Shinko tyres (they are stock and crap and won't warm up even if you put a blowtorch to them) change them ASAP to anything. Check tread levels as well. Stock brake pads aren't amazing but changing them to EBC makes a world of a difference!
Other than that it's pretty much fine.. Check for rust as if they have been left out they might jsut rust.
And you should definately be able to get the price down. My friend bought a GT250R in an 06 plate for 1500 or just under I believe. It's only done 5-6k miles as well The bike is also in my garage ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

Overall its a good bike and ive never really had any problems with mine. It does rust a bit if you leave it exposed to salt and leave it in the wet for any length of time. But if you look after it and wash it and lube it over winter you shouldn't have any problems.
One thing i will say is, replace the Original Shinko tyres and the soonest oppurtunity, as they are rubbish in the wet, replace with something like Bridgestone BT90's or Michelin Pilot Roads.
They maybe heavier than the cbr 125 but they seem to have alot more poke than the cbr, the V twin engine seems to have ab it more go up steep hills compared to the Single on the CBR.
And also agree about the brakes, change the pads to EBC ones as they are alot better. And possibly a aftermarket can to make it sound better
Ive been impressed with mine, its never failed me ____________________ JACK, MISS YOU LOADS YOU LEGEND. |

In the wet? In the wet? Nevermind the wet they are crap when the roads boil water at contact! They never ever wamr up. I went on a 2 hour ragging session (trying to get the msot out of the bike) and the tyres were barely luke warm. Tried to really lean and apply power and the rear jsut started sliding. Absolutely god aweful tyres. I want to try it again with some Pirlli's
And yes, either change the cna or at leats make holes at the end (like I did and it's a much nicer sound, stock can is quite literally silent) ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

Nice one.
Now order new pads all around from EBC. No need for HH sintered ones. Just the normal ones will be better. And if you can, rbaided hoses, and it'll be saweet ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600
