I've recently bought a Kawasaki ZZR1200, and I seem to be having a bit of trouble with the hydraulic clutch.

Setting off on a morning its fine, with the biting point being roughly 1 and half inch from the grip. But after working my way through heavy traffic (and the bike warming up a bit) I keep noticing that the biting point changes and I need to let the lever further out from the grip before the clutch engages. As a result the feeling is pretty similar to that of trying to set off in 3rd gear, very little power and I need to keep the revs high to avoid the bike stalling.

Does anybody else have this problem with hydraulic clutches or is there a problem elsewhere.

This particular bike has no Haynes manual and the owners manual and service manual are very unhelpful for troubleshooting problems like this.

Any help is appreciated
Cheers

Bleed through new fluid until its all new.

It needs bleeding, and I bet the fluid in there is ancient.

Cheers

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.
