i know this is another led question like the other 1000's but iv done a good search on a few forums and cant find any help with this problem.
well a few months ago i fitted front and rear led indicators and as they do they flashed like a strobe anyway i knew id need a new relay and the other day at the nec bike show i got one well today i fitted it and its calmed down the flash rate.BUT a problem i had before the relay and still have is that the green dash light still doesnt flash nomore since indicators were fitted AND when the right side is on the left side has a few dull leds flash too. only very dull. well i thought i may have a short somewhere so removed them all and started again fitting them with care and quality and its still the same.
the bikes an 02 r6
any help would be great cheers

I thought green was a standard colour for neutral and orange was indicators?

I know the flash rate was too high but did you have a problem with the dull flash on the left hand side when you had the original relay fitted? Is the relay specific for your bike or generic? Is it two or three wire?

yeh its the right relay and yes i had both probs before the new relay. the only problem the relay has solved is the fast flash rate. i still feel like i have a short somewhere but i have rewired the lights and still no change. Sad

Sounds like current leaking to the opposite indicators. Is it a common single warning lamp for both sides?

I'd try removing the bulb out of the warning lamp and see if that stops it. An LED is a Diode so in theory should stop any leaking current through the warning lamp.

A similar thing happens on Fruit Machines because they're multiplexed. Each bulb has a Diode on the positive line to stop it.

I'd try it first.

Could be something totally different causing it.

Most instrument bulbs are of the 5mm or 10mm wedge kind. You can get LED versions in various colours. Note that an LED's are polarised and will only work one way round so test it before putting everything back together.
