Today is the winter solstice.

Days are now going to get longer rather than shorter!

Soon i'll be coming home from work and going out for a 200mile run around north yorks and still be back in daylight!!!

Roll on the end of March when the clocks change.

Yes, I was one of the few that was up before light and sat atop Old Winchester Hill to welcome the return of the sun.

It was lovely, just me and the South Downs, and the wind, and the birds and my flask of coffee.

Thank goodness for that, at the moment i go to work in the dark and return home in the frigging dar, only time a see daylight Monday to Friday is during cig breaks.

Well it's solstice time again, just about now exactly.

Can't wait for it to get lighter I really can't. I am fed up of the dark dark evenings, I want to go and ride my bike and I want to be able to walk my dog without a torch.

Where we move to European time, thus giving me an extra biking hour in the evenings.
