Hi all

Sold the ZXR but I still have loads of spares for it (carbs, wheels etc) and need to sell them. Is eBay a good idea? I haven't got an account myself, so would anyone trust me as a 'zero' rating seller etc? What are the postage costs like for large items such as wheels or swingarms? Does eBay take a large percentage and is it full of scammers who will try and not pay?

Mucho help appreciated. Very Happy

Generally Ebay is good if you're selling things... lots of buyers out there.

You can't help having 0 feedback, you've got to start somewhere and as long as you answer emails quickly etc.. people shouldn't be too bothered.

Ebay fee's, well.. they aren't too bad but are based on the listing price etc.. one tip though, don't use a reserve price as it costs you more to list.. just use a higher starting price.

State in your description how much the delivery charge will be and you can add that onto the final bid.. that way buyers know how much they have to pay with no surprises for them, or youreself.

Generally it's not so bad! i've used it with no problems at all, even ordered a lot of stuff from the states!

I must have made £500 alone selling old shit from my room.

Ony tip i have is put them on for a 7 day auction on a sunday or monday night. That way they come up top on the weekend when everyones looking.

Always round your postage up to the nearest fiver. Puts an extra pints worth of money in your pocket Very Happy

I know, im an internet scammer. This way i can get at least 10p for my DNA, hehe.

zxr? I don't suppose you've any spare fairing screws kicking about? I had to destroy a couple to get my side fairing panel off when I scraped it, I'm trying to find replacements!

Never had any serious problems with selling or buying off e-bay, i like selling because if they don't send you money, you don't send them their product! simple as that!
Only tip i will add is to always be honest with what your selling, that way your obviously trustworthy if you point out any faults and you wont get slammed with negative feedback for not mentioning it...
