"Loud black bike"

"Sachs 125"

I'm failing to see the correlation.

Mate has a XTC125, it's far from loud, it sounds like a wet fart under acceleration... that's about the only time you'll hear it too when it's really being ragged in low gears.

And it looks like a larger size mini-moto. Everything about it is very mini moto esque Laughing

I raced one ages ago and it was kinda quick up to about 60mph and then it just seem to stop in its tracks.

Its not going to win any medals, its a 4 stroke 125. But good decision on the Bandit.

thats the main reason i got it coz its a 4 stroke i cant imagine a two stroke doing 300 miles without one complaint

Well my 2 stroke has never let me down, but i do service it on a regular basis. Its 11 years old and i'm just giving it its first re-build. The problem is a lot of teenagers jump onto 2 strokes or any other bike and think they can just rag them and with out servicing them they go pop. And where a lot of these kind of people go for the 2 stroke 125's they give them a bad name. But if you have the technical know how its not a problem.

Not a problem. When I first moved to Nottingham I did around 300~400 miles most weekends on a 125 2 stroke, going back to see friends down south.

4 strokes are not that much more reliable than 2 strokes, and certainly not when tuned to the same level. Buy a 125 2 stroke designed to produce a fairly low amount of power (something like a Honda H100, at about 11hp it is producing the same bhp / L as a CBR125) and they will go on for ever with very little maintenance, and even if they do go wrong the limited number of parts involved will be cheaper to fix.

All the best

Keith
