I am trying to decide how to uprate my triumph daytona 675 headlights. i think i want to go for a HID kit, but am not sure. they are quite expensive and i dont really know if it is worth that much for the improvment i will get. There are bulbs for about £15 that say they give like 80% better light and stuff, normal blab, or true, also are they just for the dipped beam or can they be used in the dipped and high beam? I read titz post that there was a cheap ebay shop he used, diane shop, that had HID kits. Are the cheaper bulbs, or the HID kits in any danger of being to hot and affecting my headlight surround??? I am posting on here, cos noone in any shop ive been in that sells these has any idea, which is very useful...
to use the usual crappy pun, thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this topic for me,
cheers

HIDs run cooler than normal halogen bulbs as they are either 35w or 55w.
The so called brighter ones state up to XX% brighter so don't pay too much attention.
Worth doing a search on here about HID lights as there are a few threads on the subject. ____________________ Andy Sez....

HID for the win
Can be had for as little as £35 from hong kong, mine is dipped beam only, but it's really good i don't need to use high beam any more
beam pattern is a bit differen to the standard bulb (H4) but i don't seem be dazzling oncomming traffic, When it comes round to MOT tim i'll just pop the standard bulb back in

As above, newer ones are the size of a fag packet . . . . . without the health warning. ____________________ Andy Sez....

I saw them on E-gay looked about the size of an eye-pod even <70 quid.
There is a load of info on fitting if you search google.
Just make sure you adjust the beam properly after fitting or I will come round to your house and shoot you. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |
