At the moment I'm using Zone alarm, the free version, Spyware Doctor, I brought it because I like it and its only £20 for 3 licences, and Mcafee.

Mcafee has run out so I'm after some new antivirus. Whats the best out there either free or cheap. I don't want some big bloated suite, just something that does its job.

Whats the opinions on the other two, ZA and SD? Worth keeping or is there better?

Dude, if u have a router with a built-in firewall then all u should really need is some anti-virus.
If u aint sure post ur make and model of ur router.

I have a router with a FW and i only fun AVAST for antivirus. Never had any probs or "attacks" with this set-up.

The router is a DG835(?)

It does have a firewall built but it doesn't seem to work as well as my old router. Maybe it needs configuring correctly. No idea why but lately There seems to be a hell of a lot of spyware appearing. I have zone alarm installed because of a problem that I could not find an answer to whereby my PC network connection became constantly active connecting to SMTP (email) servers. When I find my XP disc I'll reinstall.

If you have picked up a trojan that zone alarm etc aint stopped try this..it was recommended by Godzgift a few days ago

It's free and worked for me. I use AVG and router firewall and tbh..rarelly hav a problem..but this little bugger of a trojan deleted all my restore points as well as redirecting me to compare sites changed my homepage after a week and the such. ran SAS once..all sorted Wink
