Bullet Cam Wiring, Change of Mic resulting no more Video..?

Heres my prob, got a bullet camera setup that is working however the mic is rubbish so I got a Dogcam Zorst Microphone for crimbo.
Thing is, with it connected the Video doesnt show. Some reason my Camera is playing games, and if the audio cable or power cable to the old microphone is unplugged then the video goes?! The zorst mic has its own power supply, and uses two audio cables red and black, which I connect in and it works however video goes blue.

Now the only thing I can think of, as its working when its connected all up with the old microphone, is that the mic is taking some drain off what the battery is putting out and splitting it between the mic and camera. So the camera gets a lower input which is probs what it likes to run on.
It should, and I'm sure it has, worked on just a simple battery pack of 8 AA's regardless of a microphone being connected though, just the power in and yellow video cable connected... but now it doesn't which I dont get, only displays when the mic is connected.

If the case is probs the splitting of voltage, I see theres 12v regulators sold by dogcam with a 12v output and a 5v one for recording devices, thats available but unsure if thats what is needed? at £25 I thought I'd seek opinions as it'd be pointless money spent if not that!
