Driver Parallel lines

Just wanted to ask what ever one thinks of the new one…..

I am still playing old Xbox games sadly, I liked some aspects of the old one, the walking around was obviously not a fluent as GTA but the graphics were a lot better.
I’ve only played Driver PL for a few hours and TBH I don’t seem to be having much fun, the graphic engine has been up rated a little the draw rate is pretty good, the cars handle perfectly to but I am finding it clumsy and a bit slow paced at the moment.
I know I should play it a lot more before criticising but I was wondering if some of you lot had played it more than I have.

Sorry for the drag up, but has anyone else played Parallel lines since?

It can be got for nothing now for the PC, and i'm in the mood for some 'driver' type game.

And no, GTA 4 doesn't interest me, I want to drive not go on dates to the cinema with mafia people.

Driver 1 & 2 were amazing, the true predeccessor to the current GTA format, however Driver 3 was OKish, but everything since then has been rubbish. I thought Parallel Lines was wank tbh.

Righty, here we go again. I installed it yesterday, since it now can be played properly thanks to a new graphics card.

I think its great, considering the controls are mouse and keyboard it works really well for a driving game after a bit of practice. I like the idea of playing a stint in 78, then coming back in 2006 and everything will be different. Currently 45% through the 78 bit.

The cars are cool, lots of american muscle, arcadey handling but feels solid enough not to be too daft, and the combat system is done quite well, again, freedom to use FPS style mouse and keyboard if you wish, or auto aim if not. The police actually try to arrest you (or shoot you, depending on mood) rather than just brainlessly crash into your car like the first driver. You can also fight with the cops, win, steal a clean car, and be able to drive to another part of the city, without every cop in the city immediately turning hostile, so you can continue your mission without a wanted level, unlike GTA.

Being able to tune, upgrade and paint the cars is a nice touch as well, even if it is a bit pointless given that you can steal anything you like. Makes you take a bit more care with your decent cars or save them for the jobs you really need them.

Better than vice city in every way so far except the bikes, but I can excuse that. Can be a bit samey, and nothing new but pretty cooly executed.

Only took me 3 years to get round to it.
