For a 125 that is well nice, I have a minichamps model of Rossi`s M1 with the same colour scheme !!!! just get your full test passed so you can up your cred by losing the L plates !!!!!!

Yes you can.

Great looking bike for a 125 but did you have to go for a yellow one... Laughing

They are one smart 125, (nice one Yamaha!). Finally a decent looking supersports 4stroke 125 that has the full 15bhp that is allowed. Not that hard to do really is it, (Wake your ass up Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki!).

I reckon that Yamaha should do a 250cc version of this bike, with the new YZF250X engine installed. It would not weigh much more being a single cylinder motor, and 30-32bhp would make it go just well enough to have some serious fun on and a genuine 100mph+ top speed. It would still be economical, and being alot more race replica styled and having better equipment as std, it would really take some sales away from the Kawasaki Ninja 250, that is close but not quite a sportsbike overall.

In fact if i had the money for one, then id consider buying one myself, as it sounds ideal in many ways, unless a mint late Aprilia RS250 got in the way! Laughing

i liked these at first but i've gone right off them now Confused

It's sort of the problem with many cars, they look alot quicker than they are...

And thats not really what im into.

IF however you could get the YZF125 in a 2 stroke version i reckon aprilia and derbi would have isues.

These bikes have a decent top end, and alot of the buyers buy these because its worth its money. Also Derbi and Aprilia are having problems because they are 2 stroke, meaning there a bit harder to finance and insure because owners keep seizing them up due to neglect or abuse.

The RS 125 by Aprilia is becomeing a 4 stroke? long time since i've been at work so i've not really been up on info on the bikes, an good god what a disgrace that will be unless they use the same engine as the Yam, Aprilia are full of weird and wonderful faults, i was building up a PEGASO or what ever their called, an when i connected the battery an tried to start it after sortin it all out, it locked me out, so we had to replace the clock or the entire bike, i cant remember exactly since my crash.

The Derbi has been announced that it's becoming a 4 stroke but I'm not sure about the RS.

Once the RS becomes a 4 stroke, the world will end Crying or Very sad

That is one cool bike, It is also large enough for a taller rider.
Usually these bikes are so small, only midgets need apply to ride them.
Nice one Yamaha. Thumbs Up

What so ridesafe - be bored.

Ride fast - have fun......

hmm i wonder what i'd rather do, i'm really not into the R125, its all fur coat no knickers, 3 grand for a bike that'll only go as fast as a CG125, pointless to me.

EDIT: btw, nice Gixxer. Thumbs Up

i had that yamaha yzfr125 for few months but it still gave my some start, i cant imagine if i will just pass my DAS and sit straight on gsxr600. Breakes, throttle everything is so sensitive and its fast no matter what gear it's in. I "admire" people that bought 600 supersport straight away and it amuze me because if i done it, first ride will scare me for life and i will never want to ride again. Its good to start on something sensible so you now what're you doing

Looks good Thumbs Up

As to the naysayer above, keep in mind the CG/YBR equivalents only produce 11 - 12hp, whereas the YZF125 produces 14.6hp along with the Hyosung GT125-R and the Honda Varadero 125.

They are definitely faster, and for a 125 signficantly so as they add around 10-15mph to your top end.

Yes they're expensive and I wouldn't buy one personally but they are good fun and definitely not your run of the mill 125.
