Washing/Cleaning a bike without using water.

What can I clean/wash on a bike without using much water, if I use any water on it, it will turn my driveway into a block of ice (There's still snow here)

What options do it have? Does de-greaser have to be washed off afterwards?

Any ideas for anything....I have a quiet day tomorrow, and a new bike I want to make shiny!

Bucket of hot water on the road or sumthing? In and out job.
Or you could wash it an then buy some grit an grit your drive? in the long run it would be worth it, we have to grit our drive way or it just turns to ice.

WD40 (or cheaper Asda equivalent) does the job; just keep it away from stuff with oil or grease in/on.
Better yet, go for a ride .

tear up a cardboard box and put it under the bike while washing , leave it for a few hours and it should have frozen sold at which you can pick it up and move it elsewhere. Or you could try cook off, ie wash it while it is running in neutral and use small amounts of water of which the second you put it on the bike it steams off.

You can use a 'spray and wipe' bike cleaner if it aint too dirty, get it at halfords etc.

i think i might give this a go on the weekend. I was speaking to my old man about cleaning all the hard to reach areas when we take apart the swing arm. and he suggested getting some brake cleaner into the pump action spray bottles (like cilit bang) and using that. any good?

Errr.... how about moving the bike a few metres out of your drive?

Unless you live in a mansion and your "drive" is a mile long, this seems to be the most obvious solution.

Wash it at a jet wash. Be careful not to hit any bearings/linkages/electrics with the jet washer.

Ride to Hein Gericke. Buy a bottle of Scottoiler FS365.

Spray liberally.

Don't wash bike until spring.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Use hot water, then when you've finished cleaning get out the broom and brush the water onto the grass.
