Anybody ridden this bike? If so what is it like? I haven't seen the front of it either personally, does it look good?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Tom.

It looks like an over-sized (its about 6 foot high lol) mini-moto, sounds like a wet fart and tops out at 75mph down a hill, with the wind behind it.....

I was told by a Sachs dealer, that they have Yamaha DT 125 engines if that's any help. Also the seat looks very thin, it must feel like you've been raped if you spend more than 5 mins on it!

I'm sure its a 4-stroke and the DT 125 is a 2 stroke...

Don't know fella, that's just what a dealer told me but that was two and a half years ago. Has the Sachs engine changed in that time?

The initial ones were 2 stroke I believe, which seems like a much more sensible option. All are pretty expensive for what they are.

If you've got a grand or two to throw away on the looks, then go for it Smile.

AFAIK it's always had a 4 stroke engine in it. And I'm not sure how long they've been about.

Recently I haven't seen many sport's 125's around here, all I see is crosser's. I have come across a few of these Sachs XTC's and I think they're alright looking. A bit on the tall side but the frame tops it off I think. The price puts it off a bit too.

Personally I wouldn't buy one, might aswell get a CG125 or something along those lines If your looking for a 4 stroke.

To be honest I do think they look very cool with the cafe racer look, I was thinking of getting one once, but chose the NSR (as most people here did).

gorgeous looking and individual 'bike in my humble opinion - well specced too by the look of them. I also reckon the 4 stroke motor is a positive not a negative . . .

4 stroke is a positive on bigger bikes but is a big negative on 125's. 125's need all the help- they can get Wink

The earlier one's were strokers, but most of the ones you see now are the newer 4 strokes. Ugly monkey: If you were on a 4stroke 125 you'd be crying when a 125 2 squeak ped rinses past you!
They look alright though. Flip: They have a German engine, not the dt125 engine. Apparantly they combine German efficiency with jap reliability. Thumbs Up

Yup as said above they first one used the late tzr/dt engine, this version had a very ugly looking exhaust which matched the rest of the bike. The newer ones are all 4 strokes, i've heard the engines are made by suzuki. The newer one looks the same and only thing that changed was underseat exhaust and from 2 stroke to 4. I think they should have kept it a 2 stroke.

Whats the point in a 4 stroke 125cc sports bike, its trying to look like something its not, its basically a CG with full fairing and a fancey exhaust that does squat and sounds crap. If i was looking at a 4 stroke 125cc, i would have just got a cg and save myself heaps of money, maybe if it was cheap also but its not.

Hi

Early ones were 2 stroke. They do look slightly better than the later 4 stroke ones with the horrible under seat exhaust and kicked up pillion seat.

I have looked them over and they are very crude and nasty. They look like they have the build quality of a mini moto hire bike.

All the best

Keith

As i do everytime, i totally agree with you keith (you know your stuff). The Sachs do look very tacky. The frame design looks rubbish and the exhaust dont look too great but is an improvement over the old one. For the money they go for new i would be very upset if i bought one, as the value for money is pants. I think even the CBR125 is much better.

Here's that underseat exhaust.

I own a 52 reg black one and i think they are ok the actuly run with a suzuki engine (fx 150 ) (jap only model) which has been sleeved out and they have nicked a gear as originly it was 6 speed now its 5 i can do 80mph all day long but if the gearing was changed slightly and 6th gear was found it would be a lot better i've also fitted a noisy can on mine Laughing so it sounds a bit better hope this helped p.s MINE MIGHT BE UP FOR SALE SOON IF INTERESTED £1800 ish

I had a look at one last year, didn't buy it though, it was the 4 stroke one, it had a twin outlet under seat pipe which i thought looked pretty cool, didn't hear it turn over though.

Have to say the 2 stroke one looks heaps better and i bet it goes alright too, must be good for 100.

Hi

As a restricted 125 they are going to manage not much over 80 at best, even with perfect gearing (unless you count going down hill).

However I think that there are kits available to take the capacity out substantially, possibly to 250cc.

Personally I quite liked the looks of the older 2 stroke version. Preferred the exhaust. It is the crudeness that puts me off.

All the best

Keith
