Purchased one piece race leather set , sizing issues

Hi,

Before i purchased a suit i checked everywhere for the best deals and finally found a suitabely priced one.

So i e-mailed told them my height and chest size etc to confim it would fit.

It arrived next day however it is way to short so now i have to return them which will cost me £10 and they wont refund the orginal postage cost of £10.

Would you guys agree that it was fault on their side or mine?

I would like to hear your views.

Yours. You should have tried it on first. Every set of off the peg leathers comes up slightly differently.

Usually the buyer pays the shipping for returned items,

If you ordered say a 48 size and got a 44 size then they should pay everything, if you ordered a 48 size and got a 48 size but it doesent fit as you like it, then its not really the shops fault.

yea agree with you , but its not like i didnt give them all my measurements and just ordered anything.

Plus i had a rather tight budget and if i got a suit from a store it would probably be at least £50 more.

yea thinking about it you might be right ,it may have been cheaper as the sizings are off possibly , i am waiting to hear back from them at the mo.

Like boots aint it,
different manafacturers fit and size differently.

Like Sidi boots are very small in width i found..
alpinestars feel better for me, its not just the money to buy some tarty ones

Id say personally its your fault on the level they have given you what you asked for, look on the bright side, its only 10 pound more. although then you might need return postage again to get the new suit to you?

they dont have any longer size ones as they said 31" inside leg is the normal size, so i will probably have to save up a bit and buy a suit in my local dealers

You were stupid for not trying it on first - even if their measurements for right, it may not have fitted in other ways (ie movement on the bike, etc).

However, I'd disagree with the above; if it's was seriously out compared to the measurements you gave them, I'd say you at least have a good case for not paying the postage, as it would seem it was mis-sold to you.

if i took it to get altered i bet that aint cheap , the issue is the length i said i wear 33" inside leg trousers and they said standard they do is 31" but it would fit me as the suit would be down to my ankles obvioulsy then the boots would cover the difference.

I pulled them up as far as i possibly could and the top half is no were near going to go around my shoulders as is simply not long enough.

Other than thats i excellent which is the sad thing.

I presume you did actually tell them your overall height as well as the leg length?

If the legs were too short, but pulled right up then I'd expect the body to be longer for the same height person

its even more annoying as i wanted to wear it to work starting from monday as my zip on my leather jacket is bust so at 6:30am with a leather jacket wide up is absolutely freezing.

they just replied , and said it will be the mangers decision as to wether or not i get the postage cost refunded , and i have to sent it insured which will obvioulsy push the cost up.

Distance selling regs state it is the sellers responsibility to pay postage BOTH ways. Something I do for my customers.
