I'm a little in two minds about this.

I think the bike looks good with it, but it was very difficult to apply the tape in a perfect circle, which, IMO is what it should be, instead it's a little off (maybe not noticable from >1metre away).

What do you guys think ?

Here's a closer pick of the front wheel. You can see beside the valve where two pieces join.

It's not really noticabable if you don;t put your face to the wheel and study it, where it's yellow on black, the gap between the tape and rim edge is not equal all the way round, so with the rear wheel, when I spun it, it 'wobbled' a bit, we're only talking a couple of mm.

I applied it by hand, I don't practically see how the application can be improved.

Wouldnt worry about it really, at a guess id the say the majority of wheels that have rim tape fitted will show a little wobble when spun. It would be practically impossible to get a perfect circle.
Might be a bit easier to apply with the wheel off and laid face down but a lot of hassle just to slap a bit of tape on.
Roll with it

If I had chrome wheels, I'd probably use a colour which blended in, but was relfective.

Looks good to me!

When I put mine on my VFR, I took the wheel off so I could lay it flat, much much easier.

I put rim tape on my Pit bike wheels. They are 12".

So the curve was ALOT steeper. Caused the tape to crease and everything. Absolute nightmare!

Rim tape does look cool though.

And looking at your pictures, Looks pretty damn perfect tbh. Thumbs Up

I'd tend to agree. I mean, they're round go faster stickers right?

However, I felt that my CBR actually needed them, in a weird way, seemed to finish the bike off.

They're a little tricky to put on tidily, but not impossible. Just gotta be patient.

On the CBR-F though, I'm not sure whether they'd 'go' with the styling.

Craig that looks great, I often consider rim tape for mine. I have a black bike with black wheels, so wouldn't know what colour to do it, the natural choice would be white. Something to spice it up a bit.

How many packs are required to do both wheels both sides? I've been tempted to do this but the packs never tell you how much it will cover, sorry if i'm being a muppet but any suggestions welcome.

I got 18 stripes in the pack I bought (off ebay).

4x for each side of a wheel, and 2x spares.

Only colour for a Black B1h imo would be Red, goes with the stickers Smile

I like rim tape, brings 'dull' black wheels to life. Had it on my ZX6R and my SP1

After:

and the ZX6R (had green wheels before so a little pointless)

White (Best one IMO):

Red to match sticker:

Gold to match forks:

White or none IMO.

I'd keep them without Graham. Unlike the fussy design of my CBR, your 636 looks better in more 'minimal' colours. Keeping the wheels black along with the rest of the bodywork/headlight covers look better in my opinion than adding more details (bringing the wheel rims out seem to make too much of a feature of them in my eye).

I think the red looks pretty awesome tbh. Although it would have to be thinner. Its a little too fat in the photoshop mock, but i think a thinner red line would look the biz. Thumbs Up
