well. my bike's got an akropivic race can, scottoiler, blacked out screen and race fairing but it looks a bit tatty. i was wondering what kinda things i could do to tidy it up?

it's a '99 and is just block green atm. is it possible to fit a newer model's fairing on it? albeit with some electrical adjustments for the headlights.

i mean in that newer models have twin headlights so i'd have to set that up? if indeed the newer fairings will fit.

Was that the best example you could find? I dont think it suits, looks like the bikes been forced to wear a pair of cheap trainers Confused

I love the 80's.

It used to be great when F1 cars had bloody great Goodyear logos painted on their tyres.

Regarding the fitting of a J front fairing to the G model, I think you need a new bracket for the clocks in addition to the parts mentioned above. Have you checked that the cost of the fairing + headlight is less than the cost of selling the G and getting a J? Especially considering a G with J headlight conversion would be worth less than a J. The G model does have cheaper insurance though IIRC, so that could factor into it too...

fair point. it may be an even better idea to just save the money up for an 08 model when my restrictions up at the end of 2010 lol.

might buy some decals though so the bike doesn't look quite so bland Thumbs Up

Another chance to whore my picture again (though that was my intention when I took it), so some inspiration for what you can achieve:

Ok it's the a 2000 model ZX9, but pretty similar.

(In seriousness, note if you wanted to add a new fairing, you'd have to change the ram air system, amongst a few other bits and pieces.

it's not too bad actually. i can really feel the restriction in fourth but all the other gears it feels nice and responsive. it's enough for me at the moment anyway Smile

Feel free next time you're in the area Smile... with a dodgy rear tyre and a fair bit of down-geared power, it can be 'interesting' in low-adhesion situations!

(Though was running a bit rough earlier, may be about to blow up <shrugs>.)

I'd rather de-pimp it, restoring the thing and returning it to a clean standard example (but keeping the Scotoiler as a useful 'modifcation').

The KTM was only really the work bike until I got the ZX9 sorted; much prefer to put the miles on the ZX9.
It's due a service (going to be official as it's new Sad ) and needs some warranty work done too, now (smoke from the front wheel when trying to start the bike is a little 'concerning').
Plan was to sort out the CCM for it, but I'm quite liking the narrowness of the ZX9.
