Picking up a CB500 on saturday and I've been pondering a screen for it as a bit of a treat.

Any thoughts? The H&G universal one seems like a good buy, but having never ridden a bike with either screens or fairing I don't really know what I should be looking for.

Any thoughts?

Rich

We have a medium sized spitfire universal screen on the trike and it makes a hell of a positive difference on the rider.

If the HG one fits on the same way then you should budget as many as ten minutes to get it fitted.

Fitted an Air Wave screen to my CB500 that I got off Ebay, its a universal screen so not a perfect fit but does the job. Pics of it in my sig.

Get a Givi Roadster, i have one on my cb 500. Good wind protection for the size of the screen. + it looks good with the cb.

Thanks for that, I'll probably spend Sunday winding up some shop assistants a treat as I hold 20 different models up to the bike, all the while failing to make any sort of decision!

Cheers,

Hey, just a quick question about the aftermarket screens, do they attach at the headlight/fork bracket or to the handlebars ?

Cheers, SImon

Mine attached to the headlight bracket, seems very secure.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd stick this here- I've got a bit of a shopping list (Scottoiler, screen, heated grips, possibly some hard luggage) and I know there's a bike show down this way soon.

Is it worth hanging on till then to buy stuff, or is the price difference likely to be negligible?

I'm happy clothing-wise, so I'm just interested in bits for the bike.

If you can wait until May then the BMF at the East of England Showground, Peterborough is excellent for bargains.

However currently Hein-Gericke, M&P and most other accessory suppliers have massive sales.

May, eh? Well, I'm not quite that patient, so I'll trawl some shops and see what comes up.

Still, my folks live up that way so I might stick it in my diary for the bits I can wait for.

Ta!

I have got a screen on my SV650N. It came with and I kinda like it.

Its handy at motorway speeds as you can tuck behind it and get a break from the wind. You don't want to do it too long though as you look like a ped-boi with your chin on the tank and arse in the air.

Its not going to be as good as a fairing but if you spend a lot of time on the motorway its a wise investment.

Or he could just go to the London Motorcycle Show, which not only is in 2 weeks is also closer to him. Laughing
