hey guys, flicking through my local free-ads and have come across a suzuki RG 125...

I am just off out to go take a look at it now, in the meantime, could anyone with info on this bike, i.e. performance / parts easy to obtain / quality of bike , any hints / tips please post below.

I don't know the age of the bike yet as its just the title and a price of £750

no picture, this maybe a pointless thread if i come back and despise the bike, but we will see Smile

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi

Depends which model.

Orignal RG125 is tiny and skinny. Not bad, easy to derestrict. They managed a true 80mph when restricted.

Later RG came out in about 1992. Nice bike, very easy to derestrict (cut one wire).

All the best

Keith

I have more info...

it is a japanese import WITH the powervalve.

it has no restrictions, it is a 1987 'D reg' gamma model with the lower fairing panel (which did not come with the UK spec bike)

The bike looks to have been dropped on the one side as there are a few cracks on the fairing (visible from the inside, not too bad from the outside)

It doesn't look very pretty to look at but not bad for its age, it really could do with a respray as it's red this has faded to a dark pink.

again, he wants £750 for it, I don't know what they're worth so if someone could please give me a rough estimate. I know for sure I can budge him on price as it is being sold privately but in a used bike shop (owner selling).

Many thanks,

John

Hi

From memory then this is likely to do around 90mph. Build quality is not great. The full fairings were fitted to UK models. Tyres are skinny.

Price wise £750 is within reason if it is in good condition, given the prices asked for sports 125s these days.

All the best

Keith
