if you wanted to change the speedo on a bike to a differnt speedo like cbr one or something

you would have to cahnge the speedo drive right ? or could you just rewire it so it worked with the new clocks , although the wheel size of the bike you took the speedo off would have to be the same to keep it accurate , anyting else im missing ?
