My bike hasn't been started since before Xmas as it's been so icy and I've been too cold/lazy to go out and start it every week So I'm assuming the battery will be flat.
If I bump start it this weekend, will riding it to work for 20 mins be enough to juice up the battery enough for it work from there on, or will it need recharging/replacing?
It's a Honda XR125L if that makes any difference.
Thanks |

Depends on how many times you've killed it before and what type of battery it is.... I killed a bosch battery twice total lossing it on the way home it never worked again.
The OEM ones when they go flat apparently some of the material falls off the cells to the bottom of the battery , making it hold less and less charge , enough falls off it shorts the cells....
My Yuasa though I've killed once , and if the engine doesn't crank within a couple of starts I take another bike and charge up the Yuasa. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Thanks Itchy. Never killed the battery before and posted the bike make in case it did make a difference (OEM battery, btw).
I wondered because an MX5 I owned a couple of years ago had a glass cell battery (or something like that) and when it was flat it was dead and had to be replaced.
Guess my best answer is "try it and see" |
