Oh maybe if you are doing motorcycle tech or what they would be good, I have no solid proof i just know quite a few people who went there for a year and then transfered because it was shite,

From what i hear if you want to score drugs its one of the best, but as far as academia its just a continuation of the yoots who gotsta keep it 'gangsta'...

But then i have never been this is all second hand info...

I went round the corner to Kingston College for some traffic related stuff, My classroom looked down onto the workshops where the mechanics trained.

I still remember the instructor holding up a sparkplug and making them repeat the word 10 times. He would then test them 10 minutes later and if they identified it they were allowed to put a little gold star next to their name on a special wall mounted board.

The other main thing I remember is what ignorant fucks most of the students were, I think I was the only person in the whole place holding doors open behind me as crowds moved through them or not having rows with security about why it was essential to keep a hood up at all times indoors.

Uni bit aside.

I wouldnt call Kingston London. It doesn't suffer the cramped busy bussle of the city. I am a few miles from Kingston and it is an ok place. Good pubs, clubs and shopping..

Rent is also effordable in Kingston and surrounding area's

That's it, about 100 yards from Kingston College where I went for two years (236 mile round trip every bloody Wednesday). One good thing about Kingston, you get to see The Dualers busking in the town centre.

Any thoughts on Hampstead Heath? May be getting a job at the Royal Free.

It seems rather erm, shanty town.

I used to deliver to the royal free, its not really hampstead heath, its closer to Camden really,

I assume you know of the nocturnal reputation of hampstead heath?,

What you going to be doing at the royal free? biologist or something? i wouldent really want to go there as a patient but when delivering their labs always seemed quite comprehensive...

Well its rather large, i remember sweating balls walking around in full winter bike gear...

The area though isnt as bad as you would think, i would go as far as to say its semi-posh, i doubt either of us would be able to afford housing/rental prices there...

Do not go kingston uni, looked at it when i was choosing where to do engineering.

Went on an open day and was full of rude boi chavvy fucks. Shocked

I know someone who went there for 1 term and moved cause it was bad. The area is awful as well (saying that has a massive club there with like 8 different bars inside) but otherwise shite.

If you wanna do mechanics why not oxford brookes (where i ended up going) good uni and close to london. Its literally 1h30min on the bus which also runs 24h. Very Happy

i think that uni is pretty drugged and party'd up from what friends say. there are laods of houses around so house shares is common. it's doable for sure.

as for hampstead heath. i'm sure i use to go on school trips there about 15 years ago and it was pretty nice and quiet.

Dude, if you're gonna go to London for uni, then make sure you are in the city centre surely?

Otherwise, why not just go to any other place / city where its much cheaper to live?

Somewhere like Kingston is just a small town near to London essentially. You'll end up going into London once in a blue moon, so you might as well make it cheaper and go live somewhere else.

As a student, there's no point living in London unless you get to take advantage of all the class places right in the centre when they are on your doorstep. Nothing is right on Kingston's doorstep. Although saying that, it's not my call Smile
