Thought i'd share, found a bunch interesting short documentaries from honda about some of their philosophies. Failure one in particular strikes a chord.

Meh Honda went the way of Sony after the 90s , in that their bikes are comparatively low quality to their older bikes , and are designed to be unmaintainable by reasonably competent home mechanics.

Sony still tries to trade on its high quality image but since production moved out of Japan the quality has moved to average.

All of my 90s tech Sony , mini disc, walkman a nice thin one, CD players etc all which have moving parts are still fully functional, my most recent sony purchases ie monitors and MP3 players and phones tend to live short lives and these things have no moving parts!.

Sony are over rated. They have been for years. People think sony are a bit special because they have their own stores, but If you look at sony alongside other products it starts to look quite ordinary.
Not the worse stuff i've seen though.

I for one, love Honda. I mean, their philosophies, their well engineered engines/cars/bikes/etc.. they design them to work, last a long time, and if a component has to fail eventually then they make another component slightly weaker so that it fails first and causes less damage etc.. (the del sol roof mechanism for example).

Honda cars from the last 8 - 9 years are starting to show signs of them cutting corners or trying to squeeze out some extra profit. They don't seem to care as much about getting some of the smaller things right anymore.

Like above, Honda in the 90's were superb!

Good videos though, look forward to seeing more.
