I hung around local parks, found signs of Yoofs destroying bikes but never caught them and yes I was very angry at the time.

The theft did spur me to get my DAS sorted out, but I would still love to have my beloved CeeGee back

I think the best you can do is probably report it to the police and hope that they come across it one day. Couldn't you have bought TPFT insurance? usually it only works out about £30 more if anything

Plus the cost of excess and hiked up premiums for a few years.

I have already informed the police and my insurance company (which I now regret doing so hastily). What I should have done is bought the TPFT insurance then say it got nicked later on...would that have worked???

Another idea is to tell the insurance company I found it...then buy the TPFT...then say it got nicked later...

Are these real possibilities?

Pro bike thieves probably wouldnt steal a CG, It will be the local scumbags wanting something to ride around a field on.

Check all the local parks/fields/alleyways/canal footpaths etc, fingers crossed you find it in not too bad a shape.

Cheers
John

Not unless you want to be done for fraud, and they would screw you for it.

I'm afraid if it doesn't turn up then move on.

It's been found.
I went to look at it today and the twats have tried to hot wire it and the middle panel (with the ignition, speedo, etc) has effectively been detached from the bike...I think it's hanging on with a wire or two.

Also, my topbox (containing my helmet) was ripped off along with the plate, so the bodywork around that part is jagged.

Anyone know if these parts are repairable?

ebay is your friend for parts Cool
Or even motorbike breakers

If you can use glue, or ductape to fix the problems then all's good. duno about the top box though..

It's not the topbox I'm too concerned about, it's the bodywork at the back. I'll up photos soon.

NB: the topbox was ripped off and stolen.

Not covered for anything at all.

The helmet was one from a hire company and cost me £20.

Pics would help.

If the subframe is fine, then get a new seat bodywork unit thing.
The middle panel is hard to say without a picture, but if the ignition and most of the wires are still there, it's repairable, although you might need a new ignition if theyve screwed it.

Yes, and with not a great deal of trouble. Upload photos when you can though.

My real concern is the wiring loom, but that's because I had to replace the wiring on mine after a botched theft attempt. A brand new loom only cost £60 direct from Honda.

If someone wants to get home they'll nick anything that'll get them there quicker than walking. Back in 1993 when I passed my driving test I had an old Metro. Probably the last car that any thief would have a crack at you may think. I parked up in a car park and wandered to the pub with some mates. Came out a couple of hours later to see some scrote about to throw a brick through the window. We caught him and, when asked, he said he just wanted to get home as it was raining and he didn't fancy walking.

We then drove him 5 miles away from his house and left him in a field!

There is no 'awesome' Karma rating, so you'll have to live with 'cool' instead.

Should be easily fixable.

Is the panel still intact along with the ignition itself? The loom should be fixable with some solder+heatshrink.

Count yourself lucky it's been found Thumbs Up

The panel lifts off...I think it's connected by one wire...

Post a picture, I have an old set of CG clocks that may be useful. In fact post pictures of all of the damage. I have a range of bits and pieces lurking in my garage.
