It happened for the third time yesterday. While accelerating hard from first gear I hit bout 11.5k Rpm flick up in to second and wind it up to around 12k slip it in to third I let the clutch out feel the bike pulling then it suddenly stops pulling and the rev's go through the roof. Look down and the neutral light is on. This happens bout 0.5 of a second from the clutch being let out. It finds the gear cus I can feel the bike start to accelerate.
At first I thought its prob me not pushing the gear lever high enough cus I’m not very experienced, but could it be something more serious?
I'm riding a 03 reg' 33bhp Hornet with just over 3000 miles on the clock.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
J

Knock it into gear a bit harder, and adjust the gearchange linkage to make sure your getting plenty of force into it.

its either one of two things.....its knackered......or you are not changing up hard enough...try keeping the pressure on the gear change lever when you shift up Thumbs Up

knock it up a bit harder or maybe try changing the oil for a smoother shift if it gets worse then take it to your dealer

What bike? It may need some oil for the gearbox if it's a 2-smoke.

They didn't make any 600cc 2-strokes in 2003 Dean, you're 15 years too late. Razz

A 3000 mile, one-year old bike shouldn't be doing that - it's the sort of thing you expect from a battered GPZ550. I'm guessing it's still got the Honda warranty on it so I'd take it back to the dealers.

i say adjust your linkage so you get some more pull on that shifter. sounds like your just finding a false neutral. Could also be time for another oil change. what oil are you running in there? your revving that high, why use the clutch Wink
