Didn't he say he slowed down for the layby? Or did he have to change lanes too? If he just slowed down and someone hit him from behind it's not really his fault.

Ive seen it before on a longer clip and it goes into detail

apprently he was slowing down and changing lanes to tell the police officer about a accident further back.

Its a bit unprofessional of them not to show show fault it was, anyone watching that on tv would think the car driver rear ended him.

Drew: yeah I don't see why we need to use 2 letters when one will do.

Yeah, we all need to be preached at about dangerous driving by some smug cunt with 2 drink driving convictions.

If someone runs into the back of you how can it be your fault, come on guys, if something or someone ran in to the road he had to brake and its his fault the TWAT behind was too busy rubber necking and kills him he asked for it, umm I think somebody should have a look at their rules of the road

yer but that biker was braking and cut across the inside lane trying to get into that lay by. Its the same as pulling out on someone trying to overtake you without looking.

watched it (both halves) i'd be really pissed off if a copper stopped me to give me a lecture about my clothing and not for acting the hooligan but riding steadily, i rarely wear any other protection than my helmet and gloves with denims if the weather is nice, when it turns shitty it's time for my textile jacket and waterproofs ...

until they actually make it law that i "have" to wear leathers and armour they can bugger off, i like my denims and it's my choice

NiteMare - Fallen off in denims? Touchwood I havent but there are some real horror stories from people on here (I still ride in jeans half the time so I'm not one to lecture)

Its been a while since I've actually owned a TV but police camera action is an ITV program, right?

I gotta say, I can't stand the reporting style. Same with the ITV news, and all their magazine programs. Like its been lifted from the News of the World.

As an aside, whats with the wild varying on stats?
I was watching the show about sheffields emergency services the other night (it was like OOH I KNOW THAT ROAD)... and they said motorcyclists are 46x more likely to get killed or seriously injured, yet that show on YouTube said 10x?

Weird...

Haven't watched it, but if you pull infront of someone going faster and they run in to you, then it's your fault.

I bet the policeman doesn't wear a helmet and five point harness in his car (which can make a massive difference in a car crash), yet you don't see people stopping him and giving him lectures about it, or so I'd guess.

Because the car recording is already in the lay-by you only see a few metres of travel before the crash.

It looked like the bike was in the same lane (left side of a dual carriageway) then wanted to move into the lay-by, slowed down whilst in the left lane however the car behind him has travelled on and sort of fishtailed him spinning both him and the bike.

You couldn't see enough to assess fault I think. On the assumption that the bike was always in the left lane, then the car driver would probably be at fault for not paying attention.

In an ideal world car drivers would pay attention, however with a phone + radio + coffee + other shiny things + people to talk to car drivers generally dont pay attention. Thats what I didn't get about the biker in this case, pulling into a lay-by on a dual carriageway is something I would treat with car because of dozey shites like this, sort of being prepared for the car driver to make a hash of it so to speak. Know we shouldn't have to but its little help when your sat in hospital that night...

in part two of the video the guy talks about it and says he was just slowing down to go in the layby-no mention of lane changes so I beleive him even though he has given up biking
