Will it put you over 33bhp? Should you declare it to your insurance? Up to you TBH.

if a bikes non standard they may question the mods if you get pulled, but if you can produce proof of restriction you should certainly be ok.

I mean if you prove your bikes 33bhp the likelyhood of them dynoing it is slim.

And considerig the restrcion will reduce your bike to 33bhp from NEW an older bike will likely have even furthur reduced bhp so you have a margin to play with.

Proof of restriction means nothing. It was restricted at that exact point that the proof was created, and it could change after 6 months.

If police suspect the bike produces over 33bhp they will seize it and take it to a dyno and test it.

If you want to stay within the limit and think the new can might put you over 33bhp pay £25 to get it on the dyno, if you ask nicely the dyno place might be able to restrict the bike slightly in some shape or form.

Its a grey area. To be honest I'd seriously doubt that a road legal can will give you more power without rejetting/remapping anyway. Also, I'd be very surprised if a restrictor kit hit bang on 33bhp. I reckon they probably err on the side of caution.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Well in theory, if you have a kit from FI international, then any carb or exhaust mods will invalidate your restriction certificate. The thing is, that isn't even a proper legal document anyway. So aslong as it's making under 33bhp your ok.

I'm keeping my bike stock and normal looking whilst in my 33bhp period, mainly because i'm not under 33bhp. I behave myself and try and attract as little attention as possible!

doubt it. Plod will only look for a cert if they question it. Go for it my SV had a CCC can on the bike while i was 33bhp and never once questioned.
