... Guitars that is!

Just interested to know whoever on here plays, what equipment they use and what not. Just interested and curious that is. Gwan, put up anything, including acoustics - i quite fancy getting another acoustic since my dad took mine with him. Basses count.

Can't be arsed to go photo them, so here's some generic piccies of the main two. Also got a Yamaha 6 string acoustic, a Takamine 12 string electro acoustic, and an Ovation Travel 6 string acoustic.

Squire Tele, Epi Les Paul with Burstbucker pickups and an Epi Explorer Gothic with EMG 81 and 85's.
These days im using a pod xt, and ive got a little line 6 spider amp.
Used to have a Marshall DSL40 valve amp, but had to sell it during some 'lean' times. Sad

I have just bought one of these ... and have set myself a new years resolution to learn during 2009 by practicing at least 5 times a week and for 30 mins each time.

I can currently play 'Feelings' very badly.

I've got to say, yammy pacifica 112's are AWESOME guitars. I recommended one to my cousin and he put a dimarzio PAF on the bridge and it transforms the tone completely!

Dransy, how long have you had your Ibanez for? You eventually get your amp then?

I was really immature when I was 14, started really getting into all the stuff I listen to know, and realised that all the bands were using ibanez; The Offspring, Korn, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit so I thought, man, the RG looks awesome... so some gentle persuasion, my dad got me the RG320 (wanted a 270 but the only RG in the shop was the 320). I don't think i really needed the floyd rose because I didn't shred then, and I'm not much of a lead guitarist (punk is all about power chords)... upside though is that i managed to set the bridge up perfectly that my mates always used to like playing on it... often using it as their backup guitar.

Either way, i don't feel they make them as good as they used to anymore. And everybody USED to run with Zoom GFX 707 pedals too Razz Man, those were the days.

Line 6 is a bit of a jack of all trades. Since going to uni, all the amps that i borrowed or were given had to be returned or sold since moving about with a 65W amp and no parents is pretty difficult. Was seriously tempted by a 30W spider III amp, but at the end of the day, tone port GX played through headphones or 2.1 speakers is more than enough to jam along to. I've got some cracking settings on the pod farm for metal and pop-punk.

Oh, if anybody wants to learn from tabs or make their own stuff, i seriously recommend getting guitar pro 5. you go to www.911tabs.com and download their guitar pro 5 tabs. You can learn to read sheet music as well as tabs and more importantly, jam along to it. In fact, most of my music I produced from 2003 onwards solely used GP5.

Just installed Tuxguitar and yeah, it takes a whole lot processor resources, so it's definitely going onto my netbook Thumbs Up Definitely better than GP4, but the latest version of GP5 has all the soundbanks (Realistic Sound Engine), whilst they're not as good as the real thing, it's a pretty good representation. But then again, tuxguitar IS free Thumbs Up

I've got a comparison here. Same song i wrote this afternoon (not complete) but GP5 is the mp3 version and tux guitar is the midi

I have a modded epiphone Les Paul Custom (limited edition)

https://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM02/Content/Epiphone/PR/50th-Anniv-LP-LE-front-lg.jpg

https://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM02/Content/Epiphone/PR/50th-Anniv-LP-LE-rear-large.jpg

It's got a Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge and has CGE pots with the bridge tone being a push pull pot so that I can "coil tap" - use just one of the coils of the humbucker making it a single coil. Further, when the push pull is out and the pick up selector in the middle it puts the two pick ups "out of phase" which gives a cool tone, used by Jimmy Page and Peter Green (plus many others I'm sure)

Amp wise, well being a skint student and living in a terrace house, i have a Line 6 Guitar Port which when played through decent speakers gives a supprisingly good sound. (I have Creative i-Trigue 3330 2.1 speakers which I think offer fantastic value for money)

Lastly, the only pedal I use is a Jim Dunlop Crybaby Wah.

All the best, Joe

I have this, use it a lot for practising on, strings are 11's, so keeps the fingers in shape.

Crafter CT-120

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/Crafter20CT-12020TBU.jpg

I use this for gigging, it's a Kramer something or other. I have been told, by people who know a lot more than I do, that it's actually a very nice guitar. Sounds alright to me!

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/PsyKramer.jpg

For the officianados, I have, in my house , (not claiming it's mine, but I can use it any time I want), a Tony Zemaitis 12 string, eat your hearts out now!
Also have a 1960's Gibson accoustic which sounds so sweet, again not mine but I can use it any time I want.
