And in any case, it’s not just about Barack Obama. Like Blair, I’m sure he’s a fantastic bloke. Looks great in a suit, fabbo teeth, wonderfully charming. But what about that ragbag — an inevitability with all left-liberal administrations, especially when they control both houses of Congress — of scuzzballs, communists, class warriors, eco-loons, thugs, malcontents, and single-issue rabble-rousers that will sweep into power on his back? They’re the ones America really needs to worry about because they’re the ones who’ll be wreaking the most havoc while Obama stands in front masking their excesses with that reassuring ‘I’m not a socialist’ smile.

That writer has it nailed. So if you're planning to move to the US when you can't stand to live in the UK any more, you'll be able to get easily get work as a fortune teller.

Unlike, say, Gordon Brown. With Gordon Brown it’s obvious what the threat is — he’s a dour, tax-and-spend socialist — and whether you love him or you believe (not unreasonably) that he is the most criminally incompetent prime minister in British history...

...rather as Britain did in the dog-end of the Blair years — with the most terrible hang- over, only to find its pockets empty, its savings gone, its property trashed to virtual worthlessness, its streets rife with crime and its traditional liberties circumscribed by nannying bureaucrats and pettifogging regulation...

A most excellent article. Thumbs Up

My initial and ongoing reaction to the Obama Miracle? "Just another gobshite politician full of lies and false promises".

He's a messianic politician jumping off the back of years of political hell. That gives him a halonic glow in the eyes of the ignorant masses but it doesn't mean he's got any chance of delivering anything of real worth or substance.

As the article suggests, the USA is about to go down the same road we've just travelled. Obama's already set to ban guns through the back door by restricting ammunition. An extreme example, but it sets the tone. Look out for a ticker-tape stream of nit-picking, petty-fogging, control-freak legislation, just like we've had here in the UK for the last decade. Otherwise known as tyranny.

Just watching the Dude being down with his Bros.
Had Aretha Franklin doing the American anthem, remixed of course. Had the British national anthem tune mixed in, talk about sounding odd.

I wonder if they have fried chicken afterwards Laughing

Expect some severely disappointed left liberal sheeple when the reality sinks in and he follows the CFR/Trilateral gameplan.

He's been sold in the same way as Blair was sold at the end of the Thatcherite era for sure.

Sort of reminds me how Blair's first speeches to the British public were about how the Labour party vehemently opposed the Tories plan's to introduce ID cards.

10 years down the line he now considers then a nessecity (and funnily enough, the Tories now bleat about how they oppose them and so people against ID cards should vote for them Laughing )

Sort of makes you wonder about Obama's constant 'freedom' crap. We could all be living in a giant prison, but as long as the prison wardens keep telling us were free and should be happy, we won't complain.

Reminds me of the newspeak essay in Orwell's 1984. Somehow I think that the current language has changed so much and been controlled and doctored that the population couldn't express what free or freedom was. The most tyrannical hell would be freedom, the "I'd give up my liberty for freedom" concept.

Early America was founded on the principles of protecting the citizen from their government. Nowadays, people think that it is their government's responsibility to protect the citizens from foreign threats; as such people assume that their own government can do no wrong because the real enemy is 'out there', not a bunch of fat rich white tosspots who make trillions from war and death.

When the government fears the people, there is liberty.
When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.

Which category would the western world fall in to today?

Interesting article I don't agree with all of it, how could I as a liberal-leftie socialist nut job? But, what I do find interesting are the closing comments in the penultimate paragraph:

Quote:
In four, or more likely, eight years time, America is going to wake up one morning — rather as Britain did in the dog-end of the Blair years — with the most terrible hang- over, only to find its pockets empty, its savings gone, its property trashed to virtual worthlessness, its streets rife with crime...

Isn't that the current situation? And given that this recession is set to be the biggest, baddest mother-of-all-recessions EVER! Isn't it inevitable that his presidency will be one people look back on and question "where did it all go wrong"?

I mean unlike Blair/Brown who inherited a fairly robust and growing economy from John Major (of all people, and yes I can acknowledge Tory successes), and then bled it dry and all the rainy day money too. Obama is inheriting a pile of shit and headaches.

Just as shooting Hitler (no I'm not comparing them) in the last days of WWII would have been the wrong thing to do, so too shooting Obama would be a mistake (not least for the loss of life) because all the white-right have to do is nothing, just sit back and watch it fail.

Sad and maybe true, time will tell. Thinking
