Hi
The bike will be fine and so will your neck. You need to control yourself, that is all.
It is not a road so there is no legal requirement for insurance. You will not be covered for damage or injuries should you crash.
There is such a thing as too slow, but that is very slow. The ones who are doing 1 lap when everyone else is doing 2 tend to make things risky for everyone.
You will need full leathers, and if you have 2 piece leathers then they must zip together all round the middle.
All the best

1. will your hornet survive? Yes I rode on track on an SV650S.
2. Your neck willl survive, its not a fast top speed track, its very twisty.
3. Yes, they will let you ride any bike as long as you have a valid license to ride it.
4.There is a novice group, and you might be one of the slower ones, but that doesn't matter, because its the faster people that have the responsibility to overtake you safely, not your responsibility to worry about them!
5.Your insurance will not cover you on track, but TPFT wouldn't cover you for any damage to your bike anyway. Included in the cost of the day is third party insurance, so there is no worry on that score.
6. You'll need to consider wether the bike is in good mechanical order before you go, and you have to go with the right attitude.
Don't get too stressed if people overtake you, the only person that you are competing against is yourself and you're there to have fun not to scare yourself silly. Bacically you need to be comfortable with the idea that you must only go at the pace you are happy with and no faster.
Anyone else got anything to add?
[edit] Oh yeah and you'll need one piece or two piece zip together leathers, gloves in good condition, proper bike boots without laces and an ACU Gold certified lid. Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |
