A very good tyre , good in the wet and last a very long time , I crammed about 16K on my last set though I don't use them anymore as I don't own the NTV anymore.

Admittedly the 16K was much in the rain and not much motorway work... They are too popular for much of a discount of them best price I've seen is £51 from BTS. But then add in delivery and fitting and it jacks the price up a fair bit

Excellent in the wet, not really had a chance to see what they're like in the dry or their lifespan.
Mine are fitted on a 250 so the big boys will give more info.
Pricewise...soz can't help.
The Avons that were on before were ok but the 45s are simply the perfect match for my bike.

Very good tyres, I feel almost as confident in the dry as I do in the wet, I've not had any serious slips with them unless I've been on a wet man hole cover or lines. I would really recommend them, it would take some persuasion to get me to buy a different set.

A sucky tyre that doesn't have good grip from cold and is only 'ok' when warm Thumbs Down.
However... for a lot of bikes with odd size wheels they are still the best tyres you can buy.

What would you rate as a better tyre then G? Just curious as I never have any issues with them when they are cold, but then our riding styles and bikes may be very different.

I never had a point where I needed more grip from cold in 'normal' riding. However, I couldn't do a stoppy on them from cold; the front just slid generally.

This is on an NSR125 and RD350; so not the heaviest of bikes, though this may have meant they didn't get warmed so much.

Ok, you say... maybe you should just wait for tyres to warm up before stoppies? Well, for a start my work was only a mile and a half away, so no chance there, but more importantly... what if a car pulled out infront of you, or a kid jumped in the road leaving you no where to go?
At that point I want to be able to brake as hard as I possibly can; if you can do a stoppy, then you can do this, if you can't then trying to do this will probably end with you on your backside.

As an idea, a supercorsa, which is a race tyre designed to work at 80-90+ degrees at least would stoppy with a heavier bike from cold in worse conditions fine.
Similar for an 010 and what I remember of a Corsa/Diable Corsa (or whatever their next step up was called).

Ah see I never try to do stoppies, and yeah that is a fair point about needing to emergency stop quickly after starting. I've not had that happen to me. I did have BT45's on my NSR before I sold it and I thought it made the bikes handling a lot better especially compared to the continental conti-sports I had before that gave up in the rain a lot.

Thinking about it there is this one roundabout back home that I would pass on the way out of town, if the bike was cold and I leant to far it would slip a little bit as it got towards the edge of the tyres. I've not noticed it on my ER5 with the same tyres however.

got them on all three of my bikes as i love them so much, good angles of lean from cold and great in the wet, inspire confidence on icy roads, only wish they did a 160 rear so i could stick them on my next bike

I switched from BT45's for my BROS as I cannot get them in the correct combination. I went for some continental road attacks and to my suprise I rate them above the 45's which served me well, very very good in crap weather. Think they might be a smidge cheaper also Smile

Personally I thought they were excellent, but they were replacing the stock Trailwings on my XF650 Freewind (there's a pic in my profile if it helps). Thumbs Up

Swore by them on the Divvy. Great for bikes such as the GPZ500, CB500, GS500 etc....

BT45's are THE tyre for the 500 class, quite possibly other bikes too

Excellent tire on the CB500, allowed me to throw it around just using my hips, the only time I had any concerns was on ice and snow - which to be fair I'd have concerns on any tires.

Unfortunately it is, weedy little things but really good roadholding and a blast on the track.
