Ok, been riding for about 3 months now, and the last month has been living biker hell. My Aprilia has been doing the following:

- Cutting out in low revs
- Cutting out when changing from neutral to 1st
- Overheating to the point of dumping coolant
- Gears locking/becoming stiff to change
- Accelerating (!) when clutch fully depressed and throttle applied

The person I bought the bike off changed the clutch cable just before I bought it, I'm guessing it's either (a) too long, or (b) stretched. Either way they clutch seems to always be touching, hence why all the above problems are occuring.

I wanted to run this by you guys before I spend even more money on this bike (already replaced both sets of brakes, both sprockets and a chain with 12 dry links...) I'm hoping I'm not going to need anything more than a cable, but with this happening for a month I can imagine there being a lot more damage that has happened because I never realised in time.

Thanks

Chris

Hi

There is an adjuster for the clutch by the clutch lever, and another adjuster under the clutch cover accessed through a small hole in the centre of the clutch cover.

You should be able to adjust it to work properly.

The RS does tend to eat brake pads. I am not that hard on brakes but have only had the front pads last 4000~5000 miles a set.

All the best

Keith

Cheers Keith, I'll have a fiddle with that tonight. Here's hoping I'm not going to be asking where I can get a new clutch from by 9:00 Wink

Hi

Changing the clutch on an RS125 (late one at least) is very easy.

All the best

Keith
