I never set out to be a pimp. When I moved to Bulawayo I needed a place to live and found a cheap flat on Lobengula St. I did not know much about Bulawayo and it turned out my flat was cheap because it was in the red light district. I think there were six flats in the block and four were brothels, I met Maria in a night club a couple of days after I moved in, she was upset because some guy she knew had got shot over a round of drinks, she recognised me from the block so I walked her home.
She was working the hotels alone and I used to take her to the Holiday Inn or the Bulawayo Sun on the back of my RD350LC and sort of wait for her in the lounge after she had met her punter. It started out as just being a thing I did cus she was a mate and I did not know many people in town but then I had a few rucks with Johns and twaty hotel security and got her out of some holes and she started to bung me cash for driving and waiting for her.

There must be a book in that long in the trade.
My period of pimping was quite short and it was not actually until I was out of it that I realised what had been going down with all the random violence in hotels. Bulawayo was a cowboy town and it suited a 23 year old biker like me to just meet any experience that presented itself head on.
