I've got my theory booked and I just want to know is it worth buying the book/cd for practice? I've done the practice tests online the only part I haven't practised is the hazard perception part.

I found it helpful to practice the hazard preception, not the theory though. That said I did only have the 35 question theory.

I've found this one on ebay, does it include the hazard perception cd?

Thats what i used to revise for mine
Oasis software i think is the company behind it
mine was the newest question bank and like 70 or 80 hazard clips for a cheaper price ;D
I would try sell you mine, but i cant find it atm.

I used https://www.theory-tests.co.uk/home/

£5 for the month - once i had done what was needed (a week) I passed the details onto a friend who was also doing the test.
Saves keeping a big book IMO

https://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/6042912/Driving-Test-Success-All-Tests/Product.html This has the latest questions

when you take your theory you now have to do answer 50 questions and get 42 correct. id suggest buying that - i passed my car theory 4 years ago and i did my bike theory last summer and thought i dont need to revise - i failed by 2 marks, id suggest buying that and going though a mock test untill u get 45/50 every time on a fake test(you actually learn a lot) - thats what i did and if i had done that in forst place would have saved me 20 quid for rebook plus u can sell it too mates/ebay

new theory questions are crap though! - most seamed pointless to me and have more than one right answer

quick tip... I asked around at work to see if anyone had recently done their theory test, borrowed the CD-ROM off them and loaded it onto my PC (don't usually need the disc to run once it's installed). Saved a couple of quid and I knew that the software was useful/helpful as he had passed his theory first time!

alot of it is just common sense really , if you have that you should be fine with just some revision.

I remember i had a question
"If you see a horse in the road do you?"
1. Stand up on your footpegs and shout.LOL honestly true
2. Slow down and overtake with caution.
3. Sound your horn and flash your lights.
4. Acclerate and get past as quick as possible.

As for the hazard perception , as long as you dont click to much on each section you should be fine as again it is really obvious as well.

I bought a CD off eBay for 99p plus postage. It was a bit annoying because you have to pay extra for half the features on it, but it had practice tests and things that I wanted to do.

I'd definitely recommend investing in a CD of some description, especially for the hazard perception part.

Hi everyone,

I strongly suggest getting a CD to get a feel of what the HPT will be. By all means it is not hard, but it can be tricky. Don't click often!

I bought and read the black "learn to ride" book and got 50/50 questions right.

Good luck! Cheers, PJ.

I would definitely suggest getting the cd/dvd of the theory test.
I found that when in the test itself the hazard clips were actually a whole lot easier and more obvious than i had been doing on the dvd which was a massive confidence boost.

I used the Driving Tests Success - All Tests and found it most helpful. Under a tenner from Sainburys, less online.

I was doing ok on the theory with no revision (43/44) but after a few mock tests I was scoring 48/49/50.

The hazard perception was a nightmare though. I found as an experienced car driver of 15 years I was clicking too early and was scoring 0. I wouldn't have known this without the reviewing feature.

I overcame this by clicking when I saw the hazard and clicking again...so sort of a slow double click. This didn't trigger the random clicking penalty either.

On the test I scored 50/50 and 65/75 - I was well chuffed. Time taken from parking, walking to centre, booking in, taking test including practice session and completing the survey at the end, getting results and back to car park was just under an hour - you really are given plenty of time.

Just remember eBay - you can buy the theory book / hazard perception DVD and then re-sell it for what you paid Wink

Can anyone just confirm for me that the theory questions are specific to bike/car, but the hazard perception is the same for both. (I have a set of dvds for car theory - hoping to use the hazard perception disc and do theory practice online - is this an option?)

Thanks
